What? Another is a joke compared to any of Ryukishi07's works. Anyway it's a good psychological show, just make sure you're paying attention, because the whole point of Higurashi is being a riddle for you to solve. Anyway, the cute happy times are also there for you tell when things start going wrong. The last parts of arcs are always crazy and gruesome. My favorites are still Watanagashi-hen and Meakashi-hen.

just finished the first season and it was awesome, some answers and some more questions, i'm not going to ask any here because i know i've gotta watch the second season, but i'm really looking forward to how some of the arcs that didn't link up interrelate and to find out who rika really is (her 'shits going down' voice is boss!)
I'll get round to it someday. SOMEDAY ffs

I don't see what part of that were spoilers, apart from arcs interrelating, which if someone didn't expect to happen i'm not sure why they're watching the series expecting it to be good.

I can answer all your Higurashi questions, but 99.5% of them are answered in the second season, as for Rika Furude, i can answer you this question after you watch the second season, and only then, although I'm fairly sure you will figure it out on your own. If not, I will doubt your intelligence as a human being XD

Two things to point out, your conclusion and your question.

1-Hinamizawa

2-Mion's attire.

Higurashi Anime should be always treated as an example of a perfectly well directed murder mystery because there are aa few other attempts at this and they were totally failed. Umineko was directly based on Higurashi but the premises were completely off. Umineko game is ok but the anime was laughable at most part.

A lot of stuff starts to fall in after you watch it in this order:
Season 1
cat killing chapter (special)
season 2 (Kai)
Higurashi no Naku koro ni REI first 3 episodes.

100% cleared.

Hopefully we'll get a second season of Chiru (that isn't fucked up) or Higanbana. Although I could see Higanbana being just as repetitive as Jigoku Shoujo.

AAAH Higanbana

After reading the VN, only the 1st 2 chapters was really thrilling and mysterious, especially the dark mood

the next 5 chapters for me was quite funny
(click to show/hide)
and quite light mooded considering how gruesome R07's past works

But of course it's a different kind of story, setting... probably for a different kind of audience

I really liked this anime! Was so tense and tempting. Every single episode. And the ending was a good one, the one I desired :)

And I'll agree with Havoc. This is a perfect mistery anime! ^^

Watching the 1st season of Jigoku Shoujo

well at least the difference we will see is that Higanbana will be more frightening, more scarring issues, dynamic personalities of characters oh and more gore  ;D
