Higurashi no Naku Koro ni / When They Cry

<< < (5/43) > >>

Havoc10K:
as far as violence and gore and blood, yes, S1 was better in that matter, but only because it was suppose to cause a lot of questions, wich were answered in the S2.

my favorite scene aside the one with Rena vs Keichi on the roof, was (click to show/hide)when Rika was captured by Shion and tried to inject her with a syrengie, but failed and Shion injected it into Rika, and she took that big knife and stabber her own neck to kill herself before Shion started torturing her, after that when Satoko cried and stopped and acted bravely for her brothers memory and Shion stabbed her hands off while Mion had to listen to it all and went shocked with fear, this episode was both very dramatic and touching.
l really liked the way the kids behaved while terrified, not like in most anime when the fear was just an expression, here it was purely depicted not as fear but something much worse.

lol wow glad you guys got a kick outa that blog post. Ya i like how its nominated for best conservative blog when they obviously do no fact checking whatsoever. Par for the course i supose.

hey Zalis, maybe your group could use the "a badass evil criminal mastermind who uploads illicit files to clandestine websites to corrupt millions of American children." tagline under your logo ;P lol

tnx for the info btw. So i guess there were slight edits to the tv series that should be aparant in the Ayu release since they used that for the first half. Ill probably just check the ED rips then and then snag the DVD release if i enjoy it and then d.load the second season

actually a couple questions about that.. how does it break down? i guess Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai  is season 2 correct?  then where does Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei that i see in OVA form up on ADB fit in? should watching order go when they cry 1 > Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai (whats that kai translate to anyway?) > then Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei (again, whats the rei mean?)OVA last?

i also notice an aparant 3rd one going on right now

but its name is totally different
Umineko no Naku Koro ni and the note specifically mentions that this ones being edited

other than the watch order, any suggestions on fansub groups for the 2nd series and the OAV? they're not here on bakabt. The two groups i see, WinD and Hauu, i have never heard of. And a quick preliminary batch search didn't even bring upt he hauu release

same for the OAV, although it looks like on that one the only group to finish it is ASR kuro which is a speedsubber i believe

--- Quote ---I agree that the majority of Japanese anime and manga contain immoral content, but there are exceptions, such as Bible Black, an anime that promotes a favorable view of Christianity.

[Ed Note: We will look into that. Thank you.]

I snorted really loudly when I read that.

LOL! i didn't finish it or read the comments, that is HILARIOUS. I hope they actually checked into that, though i doubt it since that would involve actual journalism and work. Thumbs up to the poster who put that up

礼 = salute/bow/thanks/ceremony. Rei seems to be set after Kai, so watch that last. Higurashi Kai is on BBT from Hauu~, and I have no qualms about recommending Hauu's release over the others. Only drawback to Hauu's is that the TV raws weren't very good, but they did the best they could with the source materials. Hauu may be some other group in disguise.

WinD's releases of the earlier Higurashi seasons maybe aren't so great, but their releases of Rei are just fine. DL the first 4 eps of Rei from WinD and wait for them to finish the last one.

Havoc10K:
Rei is composed of 3 arcs, all 3 arcs are alternate worlds. but they are great alltogether.

kenshin-dono:
thanks. Hmm so since the first season was edited on tv, isn't Kai going to be edited too, regardless of if i get the hauu or WinD ones? or was that season not edited? if so are there any groups that did DVD versions? I really hate watching cut stuff.

gotcha on the Rei one. At least i dont gotta worry bout edits on that since they're OAV's

hmm Rei is 3 seperate arcs? isn't it only 5 epps? how do you squeeze 3 story arcs in 5 epps?
