Seriously Havok, STFU. If I don't like I series, I'm going to say what I don't like about it... so hopefully I can keep other people from wasting their time watching it. If someone watches it anyways and they enjoy it, more power to them.

All the things that I think make this series garbage.
- Weak cast of characters. They seemed very cookie-cutter to me.
- Childish acts by childish characters = headache.
- Absolute rancid comedy. Didn't find any of it funny in the slightest.
- It's NOT mysterious! I didn't feel any sort of desire to find out why things happened in the series, which is not a good sign for a mystery. That's probably due to my hatred of the characters and not caring about what happened to them.
- Resets = worst idea ever, as it forces people to sit through a full 26 episodes of garbage before anything starts to become clear. It's not a series for the impatient, like myself. And then another 26 episodes for full resolution? Nu uh. No, just no.
- The murders, while interesting... are nothing special. They're short, few and far between... and honestly, didn't make me feel a thing.
- Did I mention that the story and the reason behind everything is completely ridiculous? Yeah, forgot to mention that.

If I wanted to watch a good mystery, I'd watch Monster. If I wanted to see gore and murder, I'd watch Elfen Lied or Memnosyne. For comedy, GTO. At best, Higurashi is average in all categories. Except for maybe being annoying, it's up there with that. Overall, a very bad series.

I watched the whole first season in one go and I disagree with pretty much all your 'weak points'. I might agree that there is little mystery behind it all, though I don't know exactly what the second season will show me, so I'll leave that point as undecided for now.

I liked how this was almost a polar opposite of Umineko. The latter is extremely serious and has a huge sense of mystery surrounding it. Higurashi is very comical  and a lot of things appeared to have been explained before the second season could answer anything (though I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to it than what we've seen thusfar).

Havoc10K:
the biggest mystery is not the resets, cuz they arent resets, (click to show/hide) it's only similar to umineko hwere there are resets, in Higurashi, Rika is REBORN in a different world with every death she takes, that is not a mystery, what is a mystery is something quite different, your waste of time on this isn't something new to me, your STFU don't make impressions anymore, you forget that characters are KIDS, and the yact like KIDS so l say to you, STFU and if youre dropping it, drop it. Don't waste your time arguing about it.

it's not murders that are the point of this show, if thats what you thought, you are wrong.

if it's annoying you, leave it alone, of others want to watch this show it's their choice, and it's nothing for you to decide unless you watch it fully, it's like with elections, if you don't vote, you have NO RIGHT to criticize the governmet.
so if you didn't watch it fully you have no Right to criticize, if you drop it, just drop, we don't care.

Aw, did someone just get butthurt because I'm hating on one of their favorite series? ::)

Just as you're allowed to rave about how good the series is, I'm allowed to say how shitty it is. I'm just giving an opposing viewpoint on a clearly well-liked series. People can take what they want from what I say. If they choose to watch it, that's their call. All I can hope is that some people heed my warning and avoid it, so their brain doesn't turn to mush from what they would endure.

It's probably the second worst series I've ever started watching. Props to anyone who finished this crapfest.

--- Quote from: Monkemon on January 03, 2010, 07:04:56 AM ---I freeleeched this too and sort of liked it, the first 13 episodes were not that good but the last half of the series was a little better, though the last episode let me down. Not that interested in checking out the second season do not want to invest another 24 episodes on a series I moderately enjoyed.

Strange... It was the hint made during the last scene of the last episode in season1 that made people (at least me) hooked up immediately to the second season, did you miss the hint or was it the hint itself that let you down? In case someone did miss the hint in that episode, it is pointed out clearly in first ep of season2.

The mystery was not the problem, I just had some of the problems that dbml had, though they did not bother me as much. I can live without seeing a second season and truthfully I read Havoc10k's spoiler above and thats enough for me. I think the entire series would have been best if it had kept itself in a frame of 26-30 episodes but that is just my opinion.
