I didn't find the show hard to watch at all. I have, however, only watched the TV show. Where can I find the visual novel. I haven't looked too hard, but I haven't seen any English translations.

I haven't watched Rei yet, but I will eventually. I also found Higurashi to be an excellent show. A lot of people strongly dislike it however. Even though much of the enjoyment was from the intrigue and suspense, I've watched it three times and enjoy it each time, although it was better the first time I watched it.

Reasons not to watch Higurashi (or any other anime, movies, books, games)
1. Never Heard of it.
2. Read reviews about it and based it on that
3. Looked at the summary/themes

Reasons to drop the anime
1. Did not like story
2. Did not like atmosphere (characters/animation/setting)
3. Did not like fanservice/comedy (possible)
4. Cannot take in the gore/psychological horror (They did a good job because many people stopped because of this)

Reasons to keep watching
1. Like the story
2. Like the atmosphere
3. Like the gore/psychological horror
4. You want to know the ending and whats going on

Reasons to hate it
1. Reasons to drop the anime
2. You hated the ending and want more and got only Rei
3. Not your cup of tea

Reasons to love it
1. Reasons to keep watching
2. You loved the ending/Rei was just an extra
3. It was for you

(click to show/hide)
Even though I like the anime, I had a hard time going through S1 and Kara no Kyoukai (they needed a rewatch), it's your choice to continue or quit. Also, you don't have to bitch at it or defend it with your life, just move along.

no she was abused, beaten painfully, rape would leave too much proof, while beating can be blamed on tripping etc if done correctly, and those guys knew how to do it leaving as little marks as possible.

total titles l watched, oncluding second and third seasons, would be around 200 titles, not too accurately, but tell you what, it's not that much tbh, l know ppl who watched more. l can memorize every scene of the anime l like, and recall it at every moment of my life, like l sometimes do when l'm having a boring conversation through phone with my boss (AD then hahah)

l can re-watch an anime titles a lot of times, simply for the pleasure of watching it again ;]

So many years spent on anime. So amazing. Hope i can beat your record by the time i am 27.  ;D In BBT i think the arveene mod or someone had in their avatar "animes watched : 719". Did they watch all animes from the beginning of the world till today? Toobad i dont like bad graphics animes after so many awesome graphics ones.

artwork isn't the biggest asset to an anime, but one of major points of it, dunno how many avree watched, but l've watched plenty, and plan to watch more as time allows ;]

today l wathed 2 series
World Destruction, wich was pretty good.
Great Guardians, pretty decent, now gonna wait till the S2 airs ;]
