the way l see it they will continue in the Index indeed but l think there will be some closing on the edges of the both series and then they will drop in conclusion, l'm looking forward to the third season tough, especially if it has some more Kuroko and Saten-san fanservice, for some reason l think Kuroko is really sexy, and Saten-san is probably the most Lady-like together with Uiharu they make up a great friends couple, as for Misaka, well, shes Misaka the Railgun, and we can't forget the perky little teacher that has a really hard head to alcohol, a nun with a library of forbiden magics in her head that can't use magic or esper powers, shes quite the character as well, if we combine all that, it's sure to be a huge fanservice win, l don't mind as long as the plot and drama will be sufficiently good.
l give then the green light for it :]

At least there's plenty of source material for a possible sequel. 6 novels were animated in Index TV series (according to Baka-Updates), and there are over 20 total.
