Even I toppled under the pressure and ordered one. Too good of a deal to pass up on now, really, provided you have the funds readily available.

You guys seen the FF12 slim version?

Buy me one tatsujin and ship it to me. ;)
FF13? Yea, it looks pretty cool. And nah, I don't really want it. If you do get a PS3 from Japan it'll work just like the one over here. All PS3 games are region-free, and the Blu-rays are locked to Region A which is US/Canda and Japan! Pretty damn awesome. Now, if we can get Region Free so Europe can join us. Why do they always exclude Europe? =[

I'm region B so it wouldn't work anyway. I'm so tempted to buy the slim ps3 when I have the money, just gotta find a good home to my current ps3.

There is always a sibling or friend.  Sell it for $150 and you are 1/2 way there to the slim ^_^

Can a PS3 from either Japan or US work in Europe? Or would it conflict with the wattage or something?

As far as I know,I dare to say that the PS3 is region-free,meaning that you can buy a PS3 in USA,take a game from Japan and play them in Romania(and you can visit me!).

You'd have to buy a converter for the electricity for around 30 bucks, but other than that it would work fine.

Games may be region free but some dvd and blu-rays arnt. And ps1/2 games have region codes as well but that can be changed.

Yeah you're correct, but that wasn't really what he was asking.

Uh doesn't the PS3 have a universal PSU?
And if it doesn't, a transformer/converter that can supply 200-300W of power is NOT cheap.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

Umm... don't be stupid and just buy a power cable from your region? There should be no problems after that?

I mean, seriously. If I cannot use a DS charger from North America in Hong Kong, but can use the European one there... Then buying a PS3 power cable in Europe... should work, no?
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

Now all you need is a logitech Harmony Remote with PS3 interface, and you'd be set for an amazing HT experiance :)

you could just use the PS controller, though after 5 years of play stations i still don't know what button does what when watching movies.

Me neither. Haha. I think it's X ... or maybe O. Btw, X, Triangle, O and Square > the other buttons. =]

So true

I think X brings up the menu of buttons, Select is pause i think

I do very much like the ps3 controllers, wireless, no batteries and doesn't weigh a ton. Though I did drop mine and now I have to drop it before I play otherwise it continueously moves down the menus.

a friend of mine already said that i should buy a remote control where can handle everything with it.. i guess the harmony remote thing does that. .....
i'm thinking about it but i am happy the way it is atm. thx :)
btw. you can pause blu rays with start >.<
