Student 'taunted' into teacher attack

I think the teacher was trying to connect with the student (failing horribly) by taking what he knew about the student (that he wanted to join the military) and tried to motivate the student (again, failing horribly) by making connections. (This probably doesn't make much sense, but I'm horrible at wording things)
Its like if my teacher told me "If you doze off while animating, you're going to get fired". (not as extreme as being dead, but the similarities are there)

i believe he HAD to join the military for 2 years as part of service to you country or something along those lines in south korea.
He was making a comment like that know that the kid had to join the military not that he wanted to join it.

Tell the woman who was raped by a street thug that was mad because she rejected his initially verbal advances (which EVOLVED into a physical advance): "Hard muscles and penises may break your vaginal wall but words will never hurt you."
Verbal abuse now counts as domestic violence. Do you know why? Because eventually it always grows into a physical expression, it's only a matter of TIME.
The teacher MUST be held accountable for his words as a person of status in society. A professor/an educator should be held accountable for ALL and EVERYTHING he has said while in the classroom or to students outside of the learning environment. So aside from the words he said being flagrant disregard for authority on his part and a lack of respect for another human being the student was fully justified in maybe not stabbing, but WHOOPING that mother fuckers ass.
Since when is goading a student into a rage part of your job description? And I can't believe that motherfucker said "WHY DIDN'T THE BOY JUST SEEK COUNSELING INSTEAD OF STABBING ME IN MY SPINE???"
Because that's not how they fucking do it in Asia, bitch. This doesn't apply to all Asians but many young Asian people are very intense and community oriented. They do not like being singled out and are very sensitive to verbal bullying because it means they are the nail that sticks out in an otherwise neat slab of wood. Highlighting an underlying insecurity such as mandatory conscription is sure to make anyone flustered, but South Koreans have particularly mixed feelings about this that can serve as a powder keg.
The fact that you are in academia and do not know this means you suck as a professor and should be forced to attend undergraduate classes again you dumb as a doorknob SOB.
Expel the student but also don't forget to Fire the fucker. That's all I'm saying.

Teachers should never, ever make jokes that they have the slightest doubt about. This would obviously include mocking the fact that someone has to serve their country proudly. People die over words everyday, and people of a certain status in society such as academic professors should know damn better than to cross that line or push their luck in that department just because they have a PhD.
