Unable to load 'somefilename.torrent': Invalid torrent file

(1/4) > >>

major9686:
For some reason I cant seem to be able to download torrents ..
I manage to save the *.torrent files themselves to my computer but when I try to open them with uTorrent and actually download the files (or in my case actually seed some old files) I get an error:
"Unable to load 'somefilename.torren t': Invalid torrent file! "
It happened with almost all the torrents Ive tried :(

does it have to do with the change from Box to Baka ? some torrents not been updated yet ?

sorry if this was asked before.. I havent seen it in the forum, nor though a quick look in the FAQ :\

thanks in advance

blubart:
can you give an example of torrents that don't work for you?
are you saving the .torrent files or the actual downloaded files in a very deep directory?

all torrents should work fine, i'm pretty sure we would have heard about it already if something got messed up in the transit.

KyraMaverick:
I'm curious as to why you're saving the .torrent file at all. Whenever I download and the screen pops up to 'Save as...' or 'Open with...' I just open it with Utorrent right there.

Is there any advantage to saving the .torrent file?

blubart:
it's easier to reseed something without keeping it in the program, or to recover from a program/system change

newy:
o0 Even if you use 'Open with...' the .torrent-file will be saved to your designated folder for torrents. µtorrent just saves the file and auto-open it.
