I have a nice installation and I would hate to mess things up because I can't run megui & avisynth. Have anyone experienced any problems using these two programs on Windows 7?

I'm of course referring to the final version of Windows 7.

I realize encoding might take a little longer, but that's to be expected.

Encoding?! Stick with XP.

MeGUI doesn't work on XP anymore on my laptop.

What are you really doing to hurt the XP this much?

You sure you weren't trying to load a directshow file directly from its own script creator? This will always cause troubles.

Both MeGUI and Avisynth are working fine on Win7 for me...

It would seem it's the different profiles which are getting my laptop a hard time. But generally, meGUI and Avisynth works great on Win7.
