Wait, wtf? you can play ps1 games on the slim but not PS2?

It might not be as bad if this is true... since there's a few PSX rpgs I want to take a look at...

Sony has been far too busy complaining about how they should have been getting more money for their overpriced shit and touting their Superior hardware over their competitors to make a PS2 emulator for the PS3. Heaven forbid we have backwards compatibility (you know they were putting off an emulator until they dropped the price on the PS3 because the PS2 has been selling like crazy long after they came out with their next gen). I'm still waiting for it mind you.

MGSIV
Killzone 2
Little Big Planet
Uncharted 2
God of War Collections
Resistance I & II

... ah, just a top of my head. Ah, if you're gonna get a multi-platform game .. then get Burnout Paradise. Avoid the others. Multi-platforms are a freaking nightmare. Including Resident Evil 5.

Eternal Sonata is also a good game. If you like RPGs, also Valkyria Chronicles (freaking AMAZING graphics). There's a lot more games. Check PSN as well and see the games on there.

Alright, I need to go back and watch Hitage!

If I miss anything then someone else cover me. Btw, don't forget, we're getting more exclusives and some pretty bad ass ones. We already have bad ass games as well.

For those complaining bout PS2 BC, get a PS2 system or get a PS3 60GB. The story is over and done with. 300 dollars, what more do you want?! All the damn nice features, one of the best Blu-ray players (and it updates, so make it Best blu-ray player), best Media to boost your surround sound, HOME, PSN, movies, etc etc etc. They'll bring PS2 BC  back in a year or so, for now they need to make money. I support them for the will of ... well, because I already have a 60GB.  ;D

My PS2 still works... it just suffers from a fucked up AV cable connector thing. I don't know if it's the cable of the back of my PS2. (We took it all over the place so I think the connection area is loose.

But I'm seriously looking into a slim as well. I just don't trust the failure rates of slims. Especially with our wonderful Microsoft warranty competition generation. ;)

RROD!!!
Yeah I so don't want to see the PS3 trying to compete with Xbox360 in that area...

If you want a solid FPS experience with great multiplayer go with Killzone 2, awesome multiplayer.
If you want a tactical shooter and a plot that will cause your cranium to explode into confetti get MGS4, really good game :).
Little big planet, really a must have. Very unique 3d platformer and is great co-op fun.
Devil May Cry 4, awesome beat-em-up though has a bit of back tracking.
Fallout 3, like Oblivion but better and less boring spots.
Blaz Blue, spiritual successor of Guilty Gear and has amazing single player and fun multiplayer.
Infamous, I don't have it personally but I'm told its great and is GTA with super powers.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance is great and should be pretty cheap now, its like Gauntlet: Dark Legacy with super heroes. Great if you have some friends and spare weekends :).
Soul Calibur 4, Ivy has weapons of mass seduction.

Yes, MGSIV and Killzone 2 are a must purchase or at least rent (killzone 2 rent for the most part). Those are some of the best graphics you can squeeze out of this generation and also out of the PS3. Uncharted 2 as well. I can't keep up with these things anymore. :|

Oh yea! If you like medievil fighting, then I highly recommend Demon's Souls. Careful tho, I heard it's a very hard game. The only way to learn is to die.

As for RPGS, Valkyria Chronicles <-- You have to get this game. It's really good. And Tales of Vesperia (if its out in the US). We're getting heaps of nice features in our PS3 version. And Star Ocean 4 around 2010 in Feb, that'll also feature a lot of nice features. All with Japanese voices and English Subs. <3 Blu-ray.

I couldn't find Disgaea and I really want that one, but I did get Valkyria Chronicles and Unreal Tournament.

I was lucky It was the last Valkyria chronicles they had in store.

I've also played DMC4 on the 360, it was boring to me. Nero is an cheaper in my eyes, with that arm he cannot win.

Also Tatsujin you got my hopes up for nothing!!! I was going to reserive God of War for Ps3, and the Store Manger said that it was push back to next year.

I'm going to get Blazeblue for PS3 next time, I didn't even see it up at my store. I did see Infamous for used, and it was 54 bucks still.

God of War Collections is this December. God of War III is 2010 March. The Collections will have I, II in 720p, smooth animations (30+ solid FPS) and no jaggies and it'll also feature GoW III demo.

games l'll play for sure on my PS3slim:
FFXIII
VC
VC2
any really great rpg from japan :D
Disgaea 3 for sure because it's Disgaea, but too bad they dropped PS2 emulation on PS3, PSX doesn't really need much for working matters so it's easy to do, but it would bring out a lot from it, considering that for some reason Shining Force EXA for PS2 lags like hell when there is a lot of mobs to deal with, the safest way then is to spam area of effect attacks to deal with it swiftly, had a lot of good fun with that game.

l wish Bandai released Hack GU in europe, this game is old considering the release date in US, it would be welcomed in EU with open arms.

l'm getting my PS3 slim on december with VC and hopefully FFXIII if not at least l'll wait for it.

PS2 is rather cheap so you can easily have both consoles.

XboX is crap so l'll stay away from them :D

It's an good game but, it looks like they cut it short or ran out of ideas. I mean you can tell that there was going to be an 4 disk, but it didnt come out. Why else would they give you GOD powers, and GOD Item's at the end of the 3rd disk.
