Kimi ni Todoke
« on: October 03, 2009, 07:58:23 AM »

Kimi ni Todoke is about a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is nicknamed Sadako (from the ring) because many people see her as strange and often mistake her for a ghost. A boy called Kazehaya kun becomes her friend and, to her, is "100% refreshness."
Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her.

Anyone waiting for this?

Personally I'm not so much a fan of this genre, but I'm going to take a look, if only because it's Production I.G.

I might check it if only because Mamiko Noto is the seiyu for the main female character.

Production IG are one of the best. I was waiting for someone to speak up about this. I made enough threads for this season.  :D

NoooOOoOoOOoooo
This is too soon :(  It should have started after the manga's end. Now it might have a half-assed ending. Worst part is that it is only 12 episodes  :'(

Did you come to that conclusion because of the description?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

The main character kind of looks like Akira from Eden of the East. Will probably also look a bit into this since Production I.G.

No, it's because I've read about it on another website. Also I'm presuming that like many other anime's which haven't followed the manga ending that it will also have an original ending. Btw, the manga only has 38 chapters so I think they might even alter the story quite a bit.

However, like Aoi Hana, they could leave an open ending, and see if DVD sales are good, which might prompt a continuation.

This one looks very interesting... although I'm not sure on the facial designs. The giant mouths/smiles reminds me of the Yokai from Natsume :P

Is it just me, or did that first episode feel more like a short... and not the intro to the series? I think I saw more development in just 20 minutes than I've seen in some 13 episode series. It already feels complete with just one episode.

Needless to say, I loved it. My favorite series from the fall so far.

Is this a drama? or more of a comedy?

First episode had a good mix of everything. Romance, comedy and a lil bit of drama.

Agreed ... I was very surprised about the development, normally it takes a whole season to get to this point. I really wonder how the next episodes are going to be, seems it will diverge a bit from the usual cliché's in that genre

Was a good watch, had a few good laughs, going to follow this one
