You really shouldn't think you know what Berserk is all about just 'cause you've seen the anime since it is only a small part, the intro as I would call it, of the manga. Sure both the manga and the anime is very sadistic in a way and there is LOTS of blood, sex and violence in it... but there is a point to it. Without giving too much away or spoiling for anyone who hasn't seen/read Berserk (WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!? READ IT NOW!) I'm going to assume you made this thread after seeing the ending, which can only be described as freakin' brutal. However you've got to take it for what it is, it's the end of the first story arch in Berserk and it's after this that the "real" story starts showing itself. I'm not going to embarrass myself myself and try and tell you how many volumes that are out now (I stopped reading at 29, waiting until it's finished... tho that might take a while D:), but there are a lot of them and the anime only covers the first few.

So, in short, if you're confused and like the anime go ahead and read the manga. It's a fuckin' masterpiece.

Cheers!
