5 Centimeters Per Second

I'm just reading negative comments ... it feels like people don't understand the meaning of the movie which is fine. Some feelings and words can't be expressed the way you want it. Life is not a miracle to give and show you and make you happy. Life is not a happy world that you desire. That's what 5 cm is all about.

Tatsu, l'll come back home and hopefully will have it DLed remotely, and l'll watch it, l'll tell you what l think then ;]

Only substitute boring for pointless. I did get the meaning of the movie just fine - it's just that it didn't automatically make it a good movie. This theme is NOT original nor unique, it's been done to death before(well maybe less so in anime).

l'm not gonna say anything about this movie untill l see it, but l already like tha artwork.

What.
So what is your opinion about me, pray tell?
darkjedi:
Prolly I'm just too young and sheltered to perceive properly one particular harshness of real life >>
And I also predict that the hardship I'm going to experience as an adult will be quite different from the reality portrayed in 5 cm, even though it's still common among other people.
Anyway it just serves to distance myself from Shinkai's philosophy even more.

Merely your opinion on it. It's original to me. I rarely see something as good as this, in terms of story and characters.

Borror0:
I loved it.
The characters were extremely likable, and really easy to relate to. (click to show/hide)The ending was just great, because it is so unlike what most movies would have done and so true. Instead of making you roll your eyes and ask yourself "Like this could happen for real?", the movie plays with you emotions by making you think there would be an happy ending for the main male character. It's a "gotcha moment" where the writer reminds us the silliness of our own daydreaming.
"Would have it not been great of our loved one was just right there now?"Simply beautiful, well thought and well executed.
