sieries to ova ratio
« on: October 05, 2009, 02:55:30 PM »
what do you think is the optimum ratio for a sieries to ova?
i pesonaly think about 1 ova evry 4~5 episodes.
less then that and you miss to many story detailes.
a movie from a sieries is the worse and can only be understood by somone who saw the whole think
and if we go one step farword , manga adoptaion to movies AKIRA or GHOST IN A SHELL is really complicated even afer you see the movie several times...
what do you think?

Wow. This is really poorly written (content, spelling, and grammer). Please try again...       ::)

Sorry for the bad spelling
I’m asking how many full episodes you think you need to make a good OVA chapter?
I say you need 4-5 episodes for one OVA.

Anime that are only made of OVAs can be hit or miss. OVAs based on aired series tend to be DVD bonus episodes, and are usually utterly worthless.

Exception being shows like Ichigo Mashimaro and Lucky Star. With shows that don't have plot continuity, I don't mind them so much.

I prefer the way they used to do OVA's back in the early 90's. Bastard! and Orguss 02 were excellent OVA's, but that also might be due in part to the runtime of each ep.
