Although the specifications are very appealing, is there anything in particular I should watch out for from your experience?

black screens, blue screens, slower than G.Skill. Problems and other problems (playing videos, anime, at the very most). The ones I bought were a year and a half ago. I'll never go back to them.

Corsair or G.Skill. Corsair is far better, but they're expensive.

As soon as I switched to G.Skill, all problems vanished.

Well I noticed the platinum series has a more recent model release, and the tri-channel sets are primarily for the x58 boards that support them. Im sure they've worked their old voltage problems out by now. At least I hope. ): But like I said, I primarily wanted to go with this set because of the price and the Cas 7.

EDIT: I've heard good things about OCZ Gold. But i'm not sure between gold:platinum

Klocknov:
OCZ is okay ram, but G.Skill or Corsair is always my choice over it. I tend to most the time spend the extra penny on Corsair for my home builds then go G.Skill on my friends unless I can get a great deal on OCZ Titanium.

Viseroid:
Setup looks pretty good. Never seen that kind of case before though :D, I'll take a look at them when I build my next rig. Bet it's loads easier to get at the mobo that way. Thanks for the link too :).
I would hold off on buying any vid cards for a bit. Though the new ati card looks pretty awesome so far nvidia will be making its move soon. Wait until then.

Tatsujin:
Thing is your wasting so much money on Mobo and CPU, so notch the rest up a bit. Get a really good RAM, get ONE piece a 4GB (come on, 24GB on a Mobo?! That's awesome. Killer choice). I don't know what type of video card your getting as well, but like that other guy said 5850 HD is one hell of a video card and the price is a lot better than the previous generation!

I'd save and get them. This is getting me hyped up. I can actually purchase a Core 2 Extreme for 450 dollars right now but would that be worth it?! No idea.
