so many spoilers i cant click yet lol.

ya i guess them being twins is the only thing that makes sense. UNLESS they were births around November or something so there was that 1 year difference in enrolling.. at least thats how it works in the states, not sure how that works in japan. They dont look exactly alike. They had different colored eyes. Ryou's were more blue i believe and Kyou's were more purple. Hey im remembering names ;P so i guess its the year apart/signup thing

so. I was gonna wait for the dvds to get here but since i have the whole season on my HD too i decided to at least finish the Fuko-chan arc.. *sniff* good stuff. I was gonna watch one more or so but then got caught up in the kotomi arc and had to finish that =P  Ah well it gave me one more day to fully get over my cold lol.

anyway im gonna stop there for now until the dvds are here i do have some comments though

spoilers for almost the first half of the show
(click to show/hide) Wow that Fuko arc was touching! i must be getting sentimental or something, it really touched me. It was obvious something was wrong but the way it played out was very bittersweet and sad. It was really rough watching everyone forgetting her and her still trying to hand out the starfish. The parts that hit me the hardest were when Sanae broke down after trying to pretend to see fuko, the part where Sunohara started to remember her a bit and broke down, the part where they went to the school for the party (it was obvious she wasy saying goodbye there) and the very end. I actually got a friggin lump in my throat at the last one.  It wrapped up well enough i suppose. Its very odd they would have a character like her and then just get rid of her though =( Especially since shes in the intro. i really liked her and was hoping to see more of her.  I'm really going to miss her.Durring that arc Sunohara grew on me as well. I didn't really like him up to then. Hes not as big an ass as he first seems. Oh and i was pissed that they wound up using her as just a joke for the starfish machine thing, that was stupid.

And how about that Kotomi arc. I take back what i said about her before. Shes pretty interesting. She had a sad ass story too but it didn't touch me as much as Fukos story. It was still very satisfying. When she flipped out at the bus i was like.. wtf? that was the epp i was going to just stop on but then i had to finish it after that =P Im glad to see she will be sticking around for now at least. That violin stuff was pretty funny =) Interesting offset to how messed up her past actually is o_O

one thing after watching the rest of these 2 arcs. The series seems to really flip between a dream like state and 'real life' and that dead world a lot. You have the fuyo arc where dreams are the center stage, her entire existence seems to be the dreams and wishes of a comatose girl, and at the end Tokoya is dreaming of her. It really gets more intense durring the Kotomi arc. At the start you have the dead world scene with the Robot commenting that he recalled living in a different world a long time ago, or possibly in the future and was trying to remember the lights. Durring the epp there are a lot of dream sequences and the part where hes dreaming of his past and Kotomi, then wakes up to her and comments on still being in a dream. Plus the weird lights that were in the dead world showed up at the end of the Kotomi arc when she opened the briefcase and started crying welcoming her parents back. The scene got very dreamlike and the lights showed up that were in the dead world scene earlier.

I dont know but Dreams and the past are a very prominant theme. I may be off base here but an early theory of mine is that the robot may be Toyoka and the entire show is either just a dream or his past life and hes dead. I dont really want it spoiled for me but i dont know; thats what it seems like to me from the amount ive seen so far. Even if im off i just wanted to throw that out there and share my thoughts. I cant wait to see where it all goes. I was told the robot/dead world gets explained later and i dont think all the dream refrences are just for the hella it!

All in all a very intersting show. Im really digging season 1 so far and everyone says thats not even the good one =P I am gonna hold off till the dvds get here to finish it now, just wanted to comment on my thoughts on it so far. Note any comments in response to this try to make a note if i should read the spoiler tag =P theres a lot of spoiler talk going on and i would only want to read replys to this and not the other random spoilers being posted, lol

now i just wonder if every frigign character is going to have a totally screwed up story to them o_O
ya so those are my thoughts on it so far. Ill probably leave it there for now untill the DVDs get here

Havoc10K:
yes, Clannad is the kind of story that can make you cry in some momments, but thats nothing compared to some other anime l saw earlier.

have you ever watched Kanon 2002/2006 ?those are the same shows but 2002 is more sugar like animation while 2006 is more mature animation and is retelling the story a little differently, tough the events are pretty much the same. if you want a bucket of tears, l recommend it, especially for Makoto's arc.

back to clannad. (click to show/hide)Yes, l broke down too when Sanae did, that was so damn sad, yet she tried so damn hard for Fuuko's sake that it was unbearable, Sunohara kinda didn't surprise me with his acting, altough when he went to the hospital to check he completely forgot about it, Tomoya could do the same but he didn't want to forget l guess, same with Nagisa, a very touching arc indeed.
l'm glad you support them with ypour bought DVDs, wish l could buy more anime than l can atm.

kenshin-dono:
quick question since im going to d.load after story now that the dvds came in.

back on page one when i asked about view order someone posted this

1) Clannad S1 Episodes 1-23
2) ~After Story~ Episode 23(An interesting prequel special to S1.  While it comes before S1 chronologically, certain elements within it make it best to be watched after instead of before.)
3) ~After Story~ Episodes 1-22
4) ~After Story~ Episode 24 (Series Re-Cap Episode)
5)  Clannad S1 Episode 24 (Tomoyo Arc)(Because it's a side story special that uses a different storyline than most of the first and second seasons.)
6) ~After Story~ Episode 25 (Kyou Arc)(See #5)
7) Clannad the Motion Picture(Because the movie isn't very good and will tarnish the series for you.)

i went to go look at after story and it looks like adb just shows that its 22 epps.. however it apears that theres  25 epps total. Most torrents out there actually only have 24 epps but the one here on bakabt has 25.

im a bit confused. Were 23-25 all just DVD specials or something? 4 in the original is said to be? (havent watched it yet) they're mentioned as character arcs and prequals above, does that mean theyre not cannon or relevant to the actual story? Are they kinda totally frivolous extras like the tomoyo side story ep 2

also odd that i cant seem to find ep 25 in a batch anywhere other than here (was gonna get it somewhere elses since its fairly new and still well seeded elsewhere)
