It definitely was a tear jerker, I am actually thinking of grabbing the movie since I have opened up some space for it...

in the middle of november or at the start of december l plan on watching Kanon 2002 and 2006 and then Clannad all over again, l'm gonna decide when after l finish Odins Sphere, the end of VP Silmeria started my sadness mood mode, altough it had rather neutral ending and l cried a little at the very end, it was still opening the script for my sadness mode. didn't end the way l wanted it to, now l'm playing OS for the sheer graphics, just fabulous.

I will have to say the movie is well worth the watch after you have watched the whole series. I would have to say it is more like another arc for the show that could of happened.

tnx for clearing that up. Wasn't asking about the movie though, heh just the episodes in after

ADB needs to update their episode listing. they also list 22 epps for season 1 when theres 24 of those i belive. Makes me wonder what other series ive d.loaded stuff and missed

Heres what confuses me, where did these extras (23-25, 23-24 original) air/get released? Were these all originally just DVD extras or what? im guessing they didnt' air since its only listed as 22 most places

man everyone keeps going on on what a tear jerker after is and that season 1 is nothing. i only saw up through the Fuku arc then ordered the DVDs. Even that got me pretty emotional (no tears, but i bit my lip at a few points heh) Im wondering how much more emotional the rest is. And hell if after story is EVEN MORE then i may need some tissues, though i cant remember really crying durring anything there have been a few shows that give me that 'misty' feeling ;P

I just finished watching Toradora and LOVED it. Not really a tear jerker or anything but i had several pretty powerfull, dramatic scenes that i replayed over and over again. I'm reading through a bunch of discussions on the last 2 and a few other epps over on animesuki, its taking forever, lol, but wanted to clarify a few things that i didn't understand so its worth the time i guess.

I think im gonna grab an action, or action comedy from my pile/llist for the next airing.. maybe Kannagi or something. that doens't look serious at all. Nor like an action series but i just want something without a bunch of drama right now, toradora went super emo on the last series of eppisodes. (Hence why im not finishing clannad right now, and certainly not touching after story right now lol)

Yeah your right when you say Clannad is not as much as a tear jerker as the after story, think after you watch the after story and re watch clannad it will be a lot more upsetting, as you see Nagisa and Tomoya in a different light, so to speak. Go watch the after story

On kinda off and on Topic to Clannad mate sent this pic in a Email, Clannad related of course.

you will also need a dozen more boxes for Kanon 2002/2006 if you ever plan on watching it, l ordered 20 boxes on amazon, a nice bargain.

lol, i do intend to watch after story just not for a while, hell i havent even finished season 1 =P probably be a few months before i touch it again

i dont plan on watching Kanon. The art really put me off. Honestly i almost didn't watch Clannad, i really dislike the art style for it. Im not a fan of absurdly large moe eyes, and the overal style was very generic. Every girl looked exactly the same but with a diffrent hair style. It really irked me. Yet somehow they made the guys look different? o_O

anyone got an answer for how the original extras ( episodes 23-25 aftersory, 23-24  on the original) were released? Were they all dvd extras, or some kinda special aired later on tv, or what? Im just trying to figure out why most sites only list the shows as 22 epps long everywhere. It makes me wonder what other shows ive missed out on extra stuff

well Kanon 2002 is more candy like in art work, and Kanon 2006 is a retelling with more scenes and more info, toough it won't hurt you if you watch Kanon 2002 first, both version have something the other doesn't, it's not much and you won't miss out on only watching Kanon 2006 but still it's more preffered if you watched 2002 and then 2006, it's basically the same story told twice, but the latter has more stuff, while the first has a few things the latter doesn't, l recommend it personally but l won't force you, l can't fucking dare to watch it untill december, had to take a year break from re-watching this show, there is one arc that gets me dry, and l need a bucket for it, fuck tissues, l want my BUCKET !

You're not going to wait a few more weeks to watch Kanon on Blu-Ray?

well l wasn't depressed over it, it was just that that arc was just that way, l mean, l wan't to see it again because it's greatly done, just the feelings in that anime are so intense they overflow.

Yeah that's true, suppose only 2 or 3 anime's that have left me depressed after watching. Unfortunately that arc is one of them for me at least, yeah it is so greatly done its untrue, but for me like most of Key's works.

Thought i post this as found it on youtube, a little poem about Clannad

Here's a poem I made inspired by the ending.

Little junk doll
How cruel fate has been to you
Death came to your wife and child
And left you with a dark, empty soul
But in that darkness there lies glimmers of hope
Their radiance unmatched
Amongst them were twins, a star, a brother and sister
They all came bearing a gift
For the happiness you gave them
A second chance at life
So go forth little junk doll
Your friends will lead the way
To your wife and daughter
Your Big Dango Family

im not sure if that poem has spoilers in it but if it did they went over my head i guess heh.

clannads on back burner right now. I got so much other stuff to watch and really dont feel like a super emo show, which i understand this really becomes. It seemed really neat from the 8 or so epps i saw. Maybe i'll check it out in the new year.

I just cant bring myself to watch Kanon unfortunatly. I BARELY put up with Clannads art and it really bugged me, Kanon is like 10X worst. Air made me want to stab someone o_O and that was just from a trailer.
