If anyone had heard some of the more candid, first person, unreported stories I've heard about obama I doubt they would bash on him so much.
Let us not forget that he's THE FIRST FUCKING AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT.
Jesus.
you people have no idea the shit- storm that man had to go though.
Countless americans CRIED at nearly all of his speeches.
Jesus christ.
He was a movement just as much as a man.
Do you know how much african american retention at my college went up in 1 YEAR??
Go fuck yourselves.
Honestly, I hate trite angry arguments but most of you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
The sheer amount of shit that man needed to climb from being a fatherless black kid from the mid- west, to WINNING the american people in a landslide??!
OF COURSE he would get a nomination.
And then of all things he gets blamed for his innability to rush into situations to solve the past WHITE presidencies errors. The fact is that he's an inexperienced politician, the american people knew that ahead of time. We were willing to accept less entrenched viewpoints for a slower change.
ALL the white conservatives are bashing him pretty much just because he's a black democrat.
The man needs a fucking pat on the back.
Real solutions take TIME guys.
It's not like the world is on a voitale countdown...
Atleast not a 24 hour news cycle volatile countdown.
Comon... just.. Put down the remote and go eat a pie.
I assure you things arnt quite as bad as all that
So tell me, Onoz, do you think these comments aren't racist? I'll tell you, very simply, that they are. You've also pretty much stated the only reason he was elected was because he was black - not his platform. Perhaps you also didn't notice the popular vote count in the election, as it was in no way a landslide. This is the same popular vote that, until this past election, was referred to as the more important figure, not the electoral college. So why now is it a landslide if the electoral college makes it so? Why isn't the electoral college a problem anymore?
Yes, he is the first black President of the United States and he deserves recognition for that, not a Nobel Peace Prize. He doesn't deserve to have the world bow down before him because he happens to be black. Shit that he went through? Perhaps we're talking about two different people. Last I checked, he went through some of the best schools in the country and did well in them. He had a good rapport with his classmates and was an excellent community organizer.
You mention people crying at his speeches - why did they cry? Did they cry about his platform or was it because he was a black man in a position to take the highest inidividual seat in the country - if not the entire world? A "shit-storm" you say? Surely you didn't notice the 13 times he was on the cover of Time Magazine, the most highly recognized magazine in the world, where they wrote of him in the highest regard. Surely you missed the thousands of Americans who questioned his platform and were labelled "racists" or "rednecks" for so much as questioning his ability to carry out his extremely expensive ideas?
I am thrilled that the retention rate of black students in your school increased dramatically and you believe, rightfully so, that Obama's running and victory in the election directly contributed to that. I will, in no way, take away from him for the amount of inspiration he has given to the African American community across this nation. I applaud the charisma he portrays in his prewritten speeches. I appreciate the way he did not directly come out and constantly mention that he was black and stayed with the topics at hand during his campaign.
However with your post you have discredited him. You have written a racist statement and made outlandish claims that he will succeed because he is black and that Presidents of the past screwed up because they were white. Whether or not it was your intention to say this - you did. You say that most of us do not know what we're talking about. I'm almost certain that I would be one of the people you're mentioning as I am one of the couple of non-liberals who post in this forum. I will be honest with you - when I make a post I think about what I'm writing and reread it before it's posted 95% of the time. I do not believe that you did that and it is hurting your reputation.
The problem begins even in your first sentence and the key word is unreported. There is no proof. I can tell you I know for a fact that he burned an American Flag in the middle of Alexandria but if I can't prove it, guess what, it's not true. We believe in citation here when stating facts, otherwise it's an opinion. So please, take your racist opinions elsewhere.
