Innocent Venus (dual audio)...

Possibilities are a-S, Blitz, RaX, ACX and Arigatou.

Arigatou seems to be the most promising, but I don't know f.e. how the release from a-S compares.

Some quotes from the Innocent Venus B-G torrent (single audio DVD rip, uses R1 source and subs):

Note: they date from over a year ago

--- Quote from: Blanchimont ---About dual audio, Arigatou might be the best choice but it might also be a bit hard to find... Nothing against ACX but they've previously asked a few trackers to remove torrents of their releases, and the recent disappearance of 'Project Arms' on box might indicate something similar...

--- End quote ---

--- Quote from: Zalis116 ---I've got most of Arigatou's, It shouldn't take me too much longer to get the rest -- they've got it on xdcc bots, so it isn't that hard to find. Imo Arigatou is the best choice..RaX cut out the secondary subtitle track for English audio, so that's fail right there. And ACX likes to do things like cut out next ep previews to save miniscule amounts of bitrate and disc space. Because they apparently think it's still 2001. I don't know if that's the case with Innocent Venus, but I prefer imagesub rips for ADV shows anyway, since they don't screw up the formatting.

--- End quote ---

--- Quote from: Frendh ---I have the B-G release and it is fine. Speaking in general terms for other releases, Arigatou fudges up the
subtitles every now and then. So they are the suck.  I have never noticed ACX ruining the subtitles, but the
video and audio is  usually average (about the same as arigatou?). So my first choice would be B-G then
ACX and last Arigatou.

Xiong Chiamiov:
Who wants to volunteer to grab an ep of each and provide screens?

I really dislike having DA releases without a signs-only track, unless there really aren't any semi-important signs in the show, since most people who download the DA are going to watch the dub.

Well, since I brought it up...

I could get an ep from a-S, ACX and Arigatou.
Blitz, like RaX, also doesn't seem to have a secondary signs track (besides having a smaller resolution), so...

Specs are (from episode 1 that is...):

--- Quote from: a-S ---720x480 anamorphic 16:9     23.976 fps H264/AVC (1001 kBit/s)

Edit: the ACX release does have next episode previews (all three of the above have them), but it doesn't have a separate song/signs track, it has 1 unstyled and two styled subtitle tracks.

I found the sound from the ACX release to be somewhat shrill compared to the other two.

Order: ACX/Arigatou/a-S

I guess that makes it either a-S or Arigatou then.  I don't see too much difference in the video, but in the third image, a-S seems to retain more grain in the wood than Arigatou.  That, and the imagesubs in Arigatou's release[1] make me favor a-S.

I suppose we'll wait a little to see if any dissenters come in (not that anyone could ever disagree with me!), and then hit up CvP.

[1]: Imagesubs, while ugly, are incredibly readable, so I don't really dislike them all that much.  It seems that most people do, though, and I would argue that a-S's subs are actually more readable in this case.
