Nice…  already a member of that club Mensa…
How could the parents do that with their child? -.-
That's a really poor child now, and not because it's intelligent…

I have a few friends that have much higher than average intellectual talent; skipping high school completely and learning calculus in elementary school and etc. All of them are more mentally unstable than my regular friends. One of them skipped perhaps half of the grades before college forcing him to mature psychologically much faster than he should have. Another became bipolar.
When a child develops significantly faster than others not only is their childhood cut short sometimes but their parents also don't have as much time to learn to be a parent. I'm not saying that all gifted children are doomed in some way but it sure seems like their parents don't know how to handle the power.

I feel bad for the kid...

A kid should have fun, not be expected to be the next to invent the wheel, or the lack there of...

But i guess this shows how much the human brain can grow and learn. But personally all the super smart people I know, don't understand how to cross the street without someone helping hold thier hand.  I would rather be just really smart and have a Ton of common sense to put those brains to good use...  Oh wait i do :) Yes that was a SELFLESS joke, Get over it! ^_^

All the super-smart people I've known, they were the most extrovert people I've ever met.

I correlate social IQ directly with the fundamental IQ.

There are exemptions, but in most cases they are very good social-goers.

On the other hand, your IQ outweighs 80% of the world population.

So be happy with what you have.  :P

Last time I did an IQ test I had 138 now I'm questioning that...

When I was growing up I wanted to become a queen, now that I did, I have to avoid brats chasing me with bats.

I took mine at iqtest.com and got a 128, to get a profile you need to pay but they send you your score via email at the end. I dropped 10 points from the last one I took...

All IQ test are subjective.  None of them are really 100% spot on unless you get one done professionally.  I have scored on those test anywhere from the 120's to the upper 160's.  The one Professional one I took back in High School put me at a 148.  So I'll stick with that one... Hey look i'm not as smart at a 2 year old :)

I tend to stick around the 130 area, with an occasional drop below. The lowest I think I've ever got was a 122, and after that would be 128. I find that I probably am somewhere around 128-132, but have yet to do a professional assessment so I'm not 100% sure there.

seriously, if Einstein had an IQ test when he was 2 years old, he probably would be put in a stupid academic position for the rest of his life :) and would not have time to develop law of relativity and other foundations of science.

Who knows, but it would be fantastic to get to know another Einstein in my life-time :)

I too also question the validity of these online IQ tests, although I'd love to think I'm almost as intelligent as Einstein though.

The higher you set your age the lower score you get. I set my age to like 70 and got 154 even though I got everything right.

IQ matters very little in the real world as long as your above 110 or so.  IQ is an imperfect measure of intelligence.  For one, IQ is determined by you Mental Age/Calculated age X 10 roughly (there's a little more at work in some tests).  So this kid has the intelligence of a 12 year old which while very high doesn't necessarily make him a super genius like Einstein, because a 12 year old is still relatively unintelligent

However over the life of an individual you tend to get dumber by IQ standards because your calculated age is constantly going up, the gap between your mental age and calculated age tends to close overtime making you seem less intelligent overtime. Thats why your first IQ is typically higher than others you take later in life.  IQ also fails to factor in such things as creativity and people with high IQ's typically like all individuals do not possess high intelligence in all areas.

That being said IQ is still relatively useful for determining if someone is competent to understand the ramifications of their actions and their ability to be influenced and is a good indication of intelligence.  However, since this test was administered at such a young age I doubt the test is entirely accurate even though he is obviously very smart.
