LED vs. Plasma vs. LCD

Plasma is my personal Preference on what is out there today. You may use more power, but you get the best picture by far. If you were to ask me I would go with the Panasonic TC-P50S1, It is a great 50" pannel, you can also get it in 42", 46", 54", 58" and for the willing the 65" Monster. And trust me if you ever decide to professionally calibrate it, that thing is SWEEEEEET~!
FYI ~ the 600hz ratio is made up of 10 subpannels running at 60hz each(60 x 10 = 600 individual refreshes). This is what allows you to get the fluid motion across the panel and assist with the local diming of the pannel.

Get a newer plasma. Technologies have made it so that burn in is much more difficult, so it isn't really an issue. But yes, the color is quite nice.
Back in the day though, they said that plasma vs lcd. Buy an LCD for a place that is "brighter" (like upstairs) buy a plasma for a darker area (like a basement theatre).
I dunno if this is still true.

@fohfoh
Pretty much holds true today, But with the newer plasmas you can put them in a decently lit room, as long as there is no direct lighting on the TV you will not get a reflection. Side and front lighting have no effect on it, but rear lighting behind the viewer does. And it shows up as a reflection off the pannel.
Burn In is really non existent with most newer plasmas. That started pretty much last year, with all the Panasonic, Pioneer (RIP ~ a Sad day in HT history), and Samsung Plasmas.

Laser TV's are supposed to be superior in nearly everything from what I've read. They're now on the market too:

Tad expensive though. Next time I upgrade my TV, I'll be getting one of those.
