Watching 2.22 from UTW since it has DTS capabilities. Love the animation! Just, love it! Story is much better than the TV series.

Yes. I'm not purchasing it. I'm not an Evangelion fan. Actually, I am an Evangelion fan but I don't want to purchase it. So, back ontopic:

I think you meant 100% worse :P Anyway, you will have to buy it on amazon or somewhere else because if my info is correct, Anime-Gate is no more.

Rebuild is worse, but they are still fun, well made movies. They are pointless and unnecessary though.

Yup. Rebuild will never surpass the original. It feels far too superficial. Sure, it's pretty in HD and stuff, but there are a number of flaws with the characters and story. [Yes, I preferred Shinji's original character, weak betafag or not]

I also think that End of Evangelion was perfect and I fully expect Rebuild's conclusion to be comparatively dissatisfying.

Hmm, well I guess it's just my opinion when I say that the Rebuild movies up to the ending of 2.2 IS the series. Personally, because I never finished the show before seeing the movies, I thought the movies were perfect in every way. They're even EoE caliber. Though like I said, it's because I lost interest in the show before I saw the movies.

Just finished 2.22. Seems like it's almost the same shit with the TV series. Third Impact? So humans will come to an end? This is stupid. If they don't go towards a better ending then this was a waste of time. So very similar to She, The Ultimate Weapon and their ending.

Uh, Kaoru pierces Unit 01 with the Spear (or Lance, can't remember what it's called in Rebuild) of Longinus to stop the Third Impact.  ???

Maybe he didn't see that. It was after the credits, after all.

Nice. So that's what it was. In the original TV series, there was a third impact? I just don't understand the whole thing with Evangelion (I've watched the TV series twice long ago and never understood the ending).

I did see the scenes after the credits. I know a third movie is in development so that's good. I just hope they don't end the whole story like how the TV series was.

Oh, you don't have to worry about that happening. They have a budget now. ;P

The last two episodes of the TV series are the internal events of what goes on in End of Evangelion. The part where they tell Shinji "congratulations" is when he decides that he wants to exist, and rejects Instrumentality.

EoE tells the story externally. But it is the same story.

@tatsu, the script writer didn't understand it either :D

as for 2.22, it is better than the original TV show, but that comes from a person that deleted dual audio and replaced it with original voice cast from the japanese version, from a person who loathes english dubs, from a person to whom visual and audio quality are of top priority, if we talk about plot, then TV was better, but some aspects of the rebuild are a lot better than the TV version, I loved the TV version, but some stuff in 2.22 are much better. (namely Shinji vs Asuka relations)

The visuals in the TV series are superior. It has inferior mechanical animation (for the most part. The TV series has a lot of nice mechanical animation too, though), but it has superior character animation (which is really, really subpar in Rebuild) and better art design.

And EoE trounces Rebuild in every way possible, animation/design/coloring/etc, and it's a more fair comparison as it was a theatrical production.

Also, I've never watched Eva in English. Not sure what this has to do with the subject at hand.

i'm currently drunk enough to make mods ban me, but i'm sober enough to restrain myself,

at any rate, can you provide pictures as to what you are referring to ? cuz in 2.22 artwork is far superior to TV version, like I said, I loved the TV version of the show, the theatrical is great, endings awesome, the entire show is great, and I hate mechs so that is something, but I think the 2.22 is better in terms of many things, and also character interactions are better in 2.22, if they used the same content (in tv version) the show would have been received even better, but I dunno, 2.22 was great for me and I am considering buying it, there are things in TV version that are obviously better, but there are also things that are better in the 2.22 version :)

that is my statement and I will keep to it.
