but that isn't a theory. (click to show/hide)The fact that Asuka's mother committed suicide after losing her sanity to Eva unit-02 is explicitly stated in episode 22. The point is discussed in the first five minutes of the episode, in point of fact.

I watched the show three times and didn't pick that up. I guess I have to watch it again, mybe i'll watch it at x3 speed lol.
