"wonder why it took him 15 episode to understand the awesomness that is evangelion?" is what i think he's thinking.
as for me, the repetitive formula aside, it's in the character development and their relationships with each other.

The rest of the series was good though, and EoE too.

sorry if this has been discussed but I looked around and didn't see it. I even did a bunch of google searches and couldn't find anyone talking about it.
I just picked up 2.22 and watched it in English. I liked the original cast a lot and wanted to check it out. I first saw it in Japanese and at the very end I noticed a difference in the dub that bothered me.
(click to show/hide)In the Japanese version the sub for Kaworu says "This time" I'll show you happiness. But in the English version he just says he promises to make Shinji happy. The sub implies that the world has repeated (Rebuild) from the original which is what I thought they'd do. The dub takes all that away. I think it's a pretty important difference.
I'm assuming the sub is correct? I wonder why they would change it like that.
