o___o There's nothing so complicated to it.

Watch episodes 1-20 from the original NGE anime.
Then watch Director's Cut versions of 21-24 (there's no need to watch these from the original version).
Then go back to the original anime for 25 and 26.
Next, watch End of Evangelion.
This concludes the original series. After that, you can watch the rebuild movies in order.

but there's this whole decimal thing, like you are not alone, all that stuff.

chaosmetroid:
So I assume I am not the only one who likes the rebuild movie better right?

kurandoinu:
I prefer the original series at the moment. Won't give full judgement until the whole set of films are out.

They're the Rebuild Movies. It really is hardly that complex.

Lol ;D
See, there are 4 rebuild movies, of which the 1st 2 have released so far:
Evangelion 1.0 you are (not) alone
2.0 you can (not) advance
3.0 Q quickening
Final
Those are the theatrical release names. But the blu-ray releases had their names changed (for no sensible reason) to 1.11 and 2.22. They're essentially the same movie as 1.0 and 2.0 respectively, but they changed the "version number" on the blu-ray.
