Someone give me some common sense I could understand. Just a little bit of ... what the fuck happened in movie 3.

Also, see you guys in 2 years when the movie is out and BDs are out. Not so much view of Asuka or slice of life or anything good was like ... well, not sure. That new kids with the white hair is weird, I don't understand who he really is. The movie just ... fuck, didn't explain shit to me and didn't cover everything the past 14 years. And we skipped like so many EVA's.

Yes that about sums up the concept, in Mirrai Nikki He is almost useful in taking down Yuno, but here He just had that "I want to take you to Sodom with me" in his eyes and just tells the plot to the audience.

I really don't get what they where trying to achieve by taking the two spear and how in the fuck does it count as plot if Gendo somehow new that they were doing it anyway and why would Shinji be so dumb as to take the freaking lance when He is told not to

Yes, there are literally so many unanswered questions and I doubt they'll be able to fill us in what the hell actually happened. And Asuka going for 14 straight years so ... what happened to her? COME ON FFFFFF!!!!! EVA stopping their age ... wow, so many questions ... so many ... questions, and what exactly happened to EVA 01. Man ... disappointing. That, that fucking shit they did in Movie 3 and they wasted about 30+ minutes of UNPRODUCTIVE scenes with that gay ass white haired kid, no one fucking cares about him or those scenes. They could have trimmed it down to 5 minutes or 10 minutes and moved on. Wow, what a waste of time.

I wonder what goes on with people who are growing old from Japan. They seem to enjoy shoving their feelings on us (not all of them, but this is what I'm getting from stuff like this). Sigh .... sigh ....

But I spent the last hour and a half sat gazing blankly at the screen, with no clue what was going on for any of it.

There are so many things I could ask, but for now I'll just make do with one question: What the fuck is Lilin? People kept mentioning it, but I still haven't got a clue what it is. Are they good guys? Bad guys? Somewhere in between? How are they related to the other organisations and characters? Even the very last line of the show was about going somewhere for Lilin to pick Asuka, Shinji, and Rei-but-maybe-not-Rei-clone-girl-thing up, but I have no idea what it was referring to.

Same question I had. UTW answered that on their page so head over there and check it (about Lilin or whatever). If you've watched at least the TV series you'd get an idea of what's going on in 1.11 and 2.22. But anyways ... seeing the preview for 4.44 is making me a bit nervous. Are they going to end this well or is this going to be another fuck up?

1. What's the difference between Near-Third Impact and Third Impact? So did Shinji start the Near-Third impact, and Gendou finished the job?
2. What happened to Shinji after he got sealed by Kaworu in the last scene of 2.22?
3. How come Rei got absorbed by Unit 01 when they excavated it? One answer may be that since Rei is a clone of Ayanami Yui, she might just have been integrated into the consciousness of Eva 01, so now both Shinji's mom and her clone have one personality controlling Eva 01.
4. Why the FUCK does no one have the basic decency to tell Shinji what the hell happened after he saves Rei?
5. How does Shinji activate Third Impact anyway? Is it because his mom is Lilith incarnate, and absorbing Rei+Zeruel is the same as an angel reaching Lilith underground?
6. What the hell is Gendou Ikari's plan? He's wiped out almost all of humanity from the three impacts, so how exactly is he going to create the evolved form of humanity with the Human Instrumentality Project?
7. What were those humanoid things in the city when Shinji and Kaworu were looking at the remains of the Geofront after Third Impact? They looked like mini Evas, and were they what Kaworu called Infinity?
8. Why did Mari join Wille?

Number 4 got me, too. If they'd just said "You nearly fucking killed us all, you idiot!" he'd probably understand why they were so angry at him, and everything would have been absolutely fine.

Also, number 1. Did the third impact actually happen? I thought it was started, then it was averted when Kaoru stabbed EVA-01 with that spear at the end of the second film. So Shinji caused the third impact, but it was averted before it killed everyone, and thus became known as the near-third impact. At least, that was the impression I had. All the damage to NERV HQ and New Tokyo 3 was caused by the angel Shinji was trying to rescue Rei from, before the near-third impact even happened. I distinctly remember the city all collapsing into the Geofront, or whatever they call that cavern, and the pyramid thing NERV used as its HQ being totally obliterated, at least.

I remember the Spear was sent stuck in the moon because they used it Javelin style to destroy an Angel that was on orbit, I remember this from the show. As for the Third Impact thing does movie 2.22 include Seele attacking Nerve HQ ? Maybe that would explain some of the casualties, but then it wouldn't be Shinji fault.

I think Third Impact DID happen, but it's separate from Shinji's Near-Third Impact. There's two distinct events, and I think between 2.22 and 3.33 Gendou managed to create the Third Impact. Because think about it, if there was only a NEAR-Third Impact, the one with Kaworu and Unit 13 wouldn't be called Fourth Impact right? And also, only Lilith's corpse exists now, which means that some Angel or a part of Adam reached Lilith and killed her, just like in EoE when big Rei got used to create the Third Impact and died in the process. Something like that?

I think Eva 01 was probably sealed by Kaworu in 2.22 when Kaworu got sent by SEELE, and the key point is the spear he used. Kaworu I think used Cassius and the one already used to keep Lilith in submission was Longinus. He assumed that Cassius and Longinus were both used on Lilith's body to create the Third Impact, but apparently two Longinus lances were used, just like in EoE, which meant that Cassius was still available for another Impact. I don't know though, this is all guesswork.

11. How does Ikari Gendou benefit from creating more and more Impacts? He is trying to complete Instrumentality by joining Adam to Lilith, but Lilith's body is dead, and the only soul of Lilith left is in Eva 01. Is he trying to save Cassius to use on Eva 01 to remake humanity and kill God?

Whoa I think after some deep thought, and some reading of the manga, I think I understand a few points about Eva 3.33 that I think people might be interested in.

1) Unit 01 + Shinji's very strong emotions = Impacts! This was shown in Eva 2.0, the manga version, where Shinji tries to defend Asuka and gets desperate so he starts getting his Synchro rate up to 250%, and then, BAM! Third impact. In 2.0, save Ayanami for sheer emotional reasons, and BAM! Third Impact.
2) SEELE's scenario of Third Impact: unified souls into Chamber of Guf, resulting in Instrumentality for all of mankind. Materials: Eva 01 + emotional Shinji OR angel + Lilith.

3) Gendou's scenario: screw being child of God, I'm going to become God, so that I will never lose anything again, and I'll see Yui. Materials: First Angel + Second Angel = perfect being because of the Two Seeds of Life being combined into one, OR Eva 01 (Lilith's soul is inside) + Adam. If he does this, the Chamber of Guf will be able to return Yui, whereas in SEELE's scenario, it won't be the case.

4) In 3.33 particularly, Shinji did not create Third Impact, but rather awakened the Eva, and Third Impact was created afterwards using the awakened Eva, and then Eva was sent into space. I say this because Shinji was fighting on the Geofront and so the Near-Third Impact occurred on the Geofront, but the Third Impact's epicenter was said to have occurred in Terminal Dogma, where the dead Lilith was shown. I think Gendou created an imperfect form of Third Impact in Terminal Dogma using the awakened Eva 01 (imperfect because Misato and Asuka and the rest survived - also another reason why Shinji didn't cause Third Impact: they would have died instantly), and in order to prevent Gendou from using Eva 01 to create Fourth Impact, they captured it from space.

5) The two spears belong to Adam and Lilith. Longinus for Lilith and Cassius for Adam, and so each is required to bring about the Impacts if they use Adam or Lilith. But when Shinji and Kaworu go down to retrieve both and PREVENT Fourth Impact, they realize that they don't see both of them, which means that were Fourth Impact launched again, they couldn't stop it because Gendou has stowed away the other one. And also, emotional Shinji + awakened Unit 13 + Longinus lance = disaster, so then Kaworu dies to cut off half the power for Unit 13.
