I liked Evangelion and Rebuild, though at times i wished Shinji would grow a pair and man up, since he was basically everyone's bitch during the course of the show!

It's not just the ocean, there are a lot of things you can briefly see in the Rebuild world that look like they've survived End of Evangelion. I remember seeing a list with screenshots and comparisons at a blog a year ago but I can't find it now. Kaworu's line goes a long way towards helping the theory, as do the changed conversations between Gendo and his assistant dude. I can't really be arsed to list all those things, so just google it.

It's awesome. I'd say it's a masterpiece. I think it's directed in a way that its message is so damn impossible to figure out in a few watches that it stains your mind and attacks your existence with the possibility of a truth behind it all. I FINALLY understood it to some extent after watching it three times. If you are 16+, you NEED to watch it.
