I think he means that its the Gamecube version. I know the PSX version had a bug where you could get stuck on the stairs. Happened to me a few times.

Oh. Also now thats weird. I remember being stuck fishing and wouldn't get out of that position until someone walked by me. Which really sucked btw lol.

l know those errors very well but those are easy to fix on a real PSX (not emulated) save game every night, if possible keep 2 save slots busy and save in both consecutavly (1 then second night the 2 and so on) l did that and the bug wasn't catching on, dunno if that fixed it on the way or what but the bug didn't show up at least, you can also try changing memory card slots when saving game.

tough the stairs bug was annoying.

on Snes version you can lock up at the Golden Axe event too.

usually l saved game in the morning in save slot 1 and then in the evening in the save slot 2, also l seldomly switched smemory card slots.

I called about every nearby shop I know and could not find one. Might have to try a few places in Montreal when I pass by there.

Some overlooked GC games:

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System - Best TPS not named RE4 for the cube imo.
X-Men Legends - Single player is average, but multiplayer is where it shines.
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (both) - Amazing game overall, just ignore the convulted plot.
Baten Kaitos - Not really overlooked, but get it anyways.
