I remember people posting their computer desks in one of the threads in Lounge. Most have their computers standing on the surface of the desk, which is something I desire rather than putting my computer at the bottom below my feet or whatever (you never know what might happen, drink spills or you might kick it accidentally). I want one that is wide enough that you can place two or three monitors and your HDTV on it and your computer. I know Jarudin has something like that too which expands perfectly from one corner to another! I'd love to have something like that. Any recommendations that you guys might have? In the meantime, I'll look for that thread and get their pictures from there.

I believe you are referring to the Computer Setup Pictures thread, yes?

The only reason why i haven't gotten a desk like that is that putting more things on top just takes up so much space. My father does the same thing with his computer setups though and puts his machines on top. Maybe one of these days I'll have enough space and money for a bigger desk.

Before, I killed my desktop... I also had it on the floor and everything wired through the back, but... with all my gadgets its really messy. And I ended up kicking it everytime I stretched. My newer desktops shell is smaller so it can hide behind the screen. I guess its just preference, Plus I have cats and a dog (Who managed to eat the power button on the desktop on the floor). So anything electronic is safer up on the desk, Which I believe is for any animal owner. Especially considering the countless times my cat has wandered under my desk only to step on the power strips on/off switch.

NaRu has 3 monitors which is really overkill IMO. I love Jaru-chan's setup.

@Mikan, i have the same problem with a rabbit trying to destroy any cables he can get at. I've had to barricade the entire lower portion of my desk. i seriously think he does it on purpose just to get me mad at him. The thing he doesn't figure on though in his little brain is that he's not my rabbit, and if he ever did serious damage to any of my shit I'd ether kill him and make rabbit stew or just chuck him out.

Corner desk, thats it. And 3 monitors is what I need. Encoding here and there, music there, blah blah blah. Makes my life easier to have a set up like that. Things became much easier when I connected my computer to my HDTV. MUCH easier.

3 monitors is stupid.

2 monitors AND an HDTV. NOW we're talking. (Seriously, wtf is the use of a 3rd monitor unless you want to display a random app like a widget on a mac) I don't care that a 26 inch mon has a higher resolution. My viewing experience is increased on a 40 inch TV!

Although i could see having 3 monitors if your counting the HDTV as one monitor, plus your computer setup is pretty spread out around your room.

To you, it's stupid. To me, it's not stupid. I'm the one who's fucking making the decision, planning and what not. If you think that's stupid, then guess what? I don't give a fuck because in the very end, fohfoh, I'm the one who's making the fucking decision.

What the fuck. Is there NO RESPECT at all in this world of how a person wants to set up their own god damn shit? I'm getting a 50" Plasma and I'll only turn it on when I watch something like anime or whatever. Three screens for someone who has PhotoShop, encoding programs, websites, music (foobar) and god knows what else I have and use. Do you do all of that shit? Let me know. Because I do.

I would love to have a cool set-up, but my computer is in a built in nook. So yeah, I barely have room for the whole thing plus my Kilpsch 2.1's

Maybe when I finally decide to upgrade, i'll do something cool with it

Another thing to consider with desks is whether or not it's a full tower. Even Jaruden doesn't put that beast of a machine on top of the desk (i don't think the desk could handle it). I do like how there's enough space that you would never accidentally kick the tower.

I actually want to have it like his. Don't need those stands where you can put other stuff like books, Blu-rays, DVDs and such. Just a clean surface to place my other equipment on it. It'd be much easier to place your computer in a corner against a wall and ontop of it.

Sounds like you need more than one computer. Must be a pain to encode and doing all that other stuff at the same time.

Yea, yes. A Core i7 or get a new processor with 3.0Ghz Core 2 Quad and replace this one. Rather than that, I'd just set up my room a little better and get rid of this stuff then work on a new computer next year. By that term, the prices on these ridiculous hardwares will come down (hopefully).
