Ahah XD best docking station mount ever :D

I like that Dell monitor (the hole in the pivot for cables), Dell makes good hardware lately.

--Jarudin--
That's an old pic though, I haven't gotten round to taking one of my current table (the GALANT), since my camera never worked quite the same after I lent it to a friend... the new layout is much the same, but with the laptop shifted to a slightly different position.

The cables are still a little too messy for my taste, one of these days I will go buy some spiral cable wrap and wrap it all up. I might sleeve some of the cables while I'm at it, if I'm so inclined; the das keyboard is definitely worth sleeving ^^

Dell may be known for making crappy low and middle-end consumer PCs, but their monitors are quite a different story. Their high-end monitors are gold; I got that Ultrasharp relatively cheap (at the time), and while it still costs about twice of what an ultra-cheap 24" TN panel would cost, it is definitely value for money (just too bad about lack of software support for wide-gamut monitors though). Doesn't hurt that Dell's put just about every kind of video connector on their Ultrasharp line: DVI, VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, Component Video (RGB connectors), Composite Video (yellow connector). Not that I'm going to use them all, but future-proofing in the form of DisplayPort never hurts :)

Actually, that is the “old” Ultrasharp (2408WFP); Dell has a new Ultrasharp now, a 24" IPS (U2410). Mine's in school now, can't wait to finish my last semester in school and bring it home alongside the current Ultrasharp :D

Yeah, 3 side by side is stupid. Though I can understand one above. Personally I'd rather have a TV above than a computer screen especially since it's further away...

Though linux's cube make it easy to have 2 screens swap on a single monitor.

IKEA Galant ftw.

It's like the lego version of desks. You just add parts as you like.
Atm have this combination http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19807470 I initially bought a smaller combination and added the right side extension later.

Note the A-legs, they will save you 30$ over the T-legs Jarudin has and are easier to vacum clean around to boot.

As for how much weight it can support I have both sat and stood (putting up a bookcase) upon it with no problems and I weight 120kg.

Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for a desk pretty much exactly like that, and apparently I live really close to an IKEA so i'l be paying them a visit soon. (:

I bought the T-legs because you will only have one vertical pole in the middle of the table, instead of two at the edges. A matter of taste I guess :)

And you have exactly the same desk as me, mine is positioned differently though so I can make better use of the 80cm-depth part (imo). If you turned your desk 90-degrees clockwise you'd have the same effect.

I got a new laptop cart about a week ago. It works well for PC gaming too. Bring right up against the screen is amazing.  :o

Not gonna lie, this is pretty epic.. Love how the wheel aligns perfectly with the wheel on the screen.

In another matter, I need help! I found a deal on CL I just couldn't pass up. Without much thought, I went and purchased this desk for $50. It is "L" shaped and measures out 7.5 feet length for each side, so I've decided to turn it into a project. From the pictures below, you may be able to see... This desk is my room. Right now I have it in the middle of the area because the ONE corner I have in my room that isn't bordered by a door or closet is too small to fit this desk without blocking my entry door. So I've angled it somewhat like you can see below..

These first few pictures are of the desk itself, and the overall layout of my room, don't mind the stuff on the new desk, it's only there because I had to take everything off the ugly brown shelving unit. I plan on moving that out of here in the morning. Only one side is connected to the new desk at the moment due to my lack of space. [I need to sleep somewhere...]

PICS!

Where my matress is right now is my temporary bed until I find a futon worth buying, then I'll put that in the corner where my small corner desk is located. Its a broad plan, but overall what do you think?
I'd also like suggestions as to what I could do, etc. The desk is pretty plain, but MASSIVE, so I was thinking of building a dresser to go under one of the open sides. ex.

IDEA: [don't complain about my amazing paint job]

Your desk, which Jarudin also has versus the one I'm looking at over here. I am considering going with the IKEA Galant because of the wide space and price and the extra space in the corner. I'll be setting up an additional 2 monitors to the sides of my main one (they will all be the same resolution). Question, that little stand under the two monitors, what is it called and where did you get it from? Wal-mart certainly doesn't have it nor any local stores around my area.

God, where the hell did you get those little stands? DO WANT!

They are called 3 bits of wood and some nails. A gift from my father who is not only much more at home with that kind of stuff but also has some real woodworking powertools like a bandsaw and a powered planing bench. The side parts are just some normal wood (spurce I think but not sure) 1 inch planks that been planed and sanded down a little bit. The top part is hardwood plywood treated with some coating (hence the reddish color)
Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason.

My desk is pretty much like this...

The tower is supposed to go in the middle part (it's adjustable), but it was hard as hell to change any of the wiring if I ever needed to, so I ended up just putting the tower on top of the desk on the raised area, and I use the middle area as a foot rest with a pillow on top of the surface.

What would they be called? I can barely do anything like that since I don't have the tools.

I don't suppose I could order some from your father?

i'm much more embarrassed about my shared room than posting my table's ultra-messy state.

If I'd intended to post a picture I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of drawing it in the first place.

I'll pass.

That sucks, but okay.

What type of Cable Management do you guys run? I'm looking for the large-wide clips (black color preferably) so I can clip them as they go. I'm not talking about the cable straps as I have a lot of those, rather clips so that way if I need to remove or add more cables to it then it would be easier to do so.
