Anime can't make me laugh

 ??? I have just noticed, over the years I've seen X amount of anime productions, and throughout every single one, when a scene, line, or series is identified as "hilarious" I never remember laughing. God forbid an anime push comedy as it's defining feature, I will be bored 100% guaranteed.

I have a sense of humor damnit! stand-up comedy is my favorite form of entertainment, beyond music, movies, anime, reading, anything. I love reading funny books and seeing funny movies and like making my friends laugh.

Whats so different in comedy anime? It seems to just fall flat on me (oh, i GET it). Is it just a sign of different cultures? I remember in high school people quoting animes and guffawing their pants off, and there I sat with a blank face.

Anyone share my feelings? Or have an explanation? Or even find comedy animes funnier than the local flavor?

Well, I sort of share your feelings. I no longer laugh at anime. I used to, years back. I guess after so much anime, I've seen it all. I can tell you the ones I laughed out loud to: Azumanga Daioh and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. If these don't make you laugh....it's the end.

you just don't pick the funny anime thats all, or you became a contractor lol.

Desensitized. Seriously. You might want to consider stopping anime and coming back after a hiatus.
* fohfoh is on an Asian drama hiatus, will be on an anime spree probably in November or December when there is more time.

The only thing that makes me laugh now is. Chaos. Hell breaking loose, everyone watching their back kind of anime. Sadly they are hard to find (=3=).
