The cost of internet.

erious:
Awesome timing on that thread - my ISP(UPC) just raised my plan speeds from 10Mb down/1Mb up to 25 Mb down/1,5 mb up(yeah, the uploads suck hard) for the same price, about 32.50$. Only they screwed up, and half of their subscribers(including me, of course) were cut off from the web and phone for two days. fffffffffffffffffff fffffffuuuuuuuuuu-
And right when I'm home on a sick leave from work >:(
Good thing about them is that the declared speeds are usually what you get, with my previous ISP you were lucky to get 2/3 of what you paid for.
I'll be probably switching soon to 50/5 plan for 43$ - that is, if I'll keep the job after my internship is done.

Doh. We're soon hooked up to the 50/50 fibers back home (with my parents). It includes the whole home-infrastructure package for a low price, I think. I wish I could stay there instead of near my University, but oh well. Presumably, the line here will be improved soon as well. It is a 100/100 connection directly to UNINETT (with a 2.5 Gbps - soon to be 10 Gbps - connection further to Oslo, and I think it goes to Stockholm and Denmark from there).

The problem is the local network being shit, so I sometimes get horrible (worse than ISDN) speeds.

Also, I don't think download quotas have been used here either since, well, the first switch to ADSL. Some mobile service providers might be using it still, I don't know...

Sweden makes me cry.

Drew:
Well, guess that sums it up. Moving to Sweden ASAP.
