There isn't. Before this, there was one time where everything went down for a day and apparently their settings went back to default and *EVERYONE* suddenly had 2+mbps. It stayed like this for a couple of weeks while they put everyone's account back in order and i was suddenly back to 300kbps. It pretty much proved that they *CAN* give us the 1mbps they advertised on their posters, they just didn't want to.

And then there was the one i posted where the service center and the on call technician *ADMITTED* that they were shortchanging us. And the fact that the one i'm on now is supposed to be for the 2mbps, even tho that two week glitch pretty much proved that our area is supposed to be able to handle the sustained bandwidth of well over 2mbps with no problem. That was 2 solid weeks of 2+mbps downloading with zero slowdowns.

When it went back to 300kbps. I called, and guess what, they said that it was what i was supposed to get under the 999 plan.

Lack of government control makes it easy for hegemony companies like PLDT to make fun of their clients.

Figures.

kyanwan:

Price: $70/month
Speed:  Quoted as 20/6.
Difficulty:  Business-class line.  No restrictions.  No blocked ports.  No filters.
Drawbacks:  We're out in the woods ... sorta ... so the service is sometimes spotty.   It's generally WAY better than Comcast.   Biggest upload I've ever got was 6Mbps.   Usually runs a lot lower than what we should be getting.

+1 Same as my connection. Ever since they lifted all the restrictions and gave me no blocked ports and no filters, everything was going super blaze. No problems and been loving it.

I wish we had a better choice then Comcast around here, but to no avail we have either slower DSL or Comcast. My internet speed at it's low matches my friends at it's peak and he pays 60$ for DSL. Though he doesn't have a bandwidth cap monthly or blocked ports nor filters and restrictions
