EDIT: How can I remix my current version with the 480p version that doesn't have english subtitle files included?

1. Download the one with English Subtitles
2. Download MKVToolNix (google this)
3. Extract the subs from the files you just downloaded.
4. Remux the 1080p files with the subtitles you just extracted.
5. ???
6. PROFIT!

They look like upscales to me, from those pictures, although it's difficult to tell, especially with a show this old. But if it makes you happy, by all means, go ahead.
