The majority of the anime that I watch is still on DVD, or at least from DVD.  (I rip my original DVDs to HDD, and watch from there, or else make copies, and keep the originals locked up safe.)

Most of the DVDs that I've bought are from Amazon, but a few from local supply places as well.

I've got a few misc Hentai titles, and a bunch of box sets (I'll pretty much always wait for the box set before buying a series) and a bunch of OVA/Movies.

For a lot of the rest of the anime that I watch, there's a really good rental place nearby where I can rent MOST of what's been released on DVD/Bluray (Though I don't yet own a BluRay player, since I'm waiting for the price of the players to become more reasonable.)

Sitting at 31 Series compleated, 3 in the works, 4 movies, And I'm probably going to buy 4 boxes  in the next few weeks.  Definitely Sola and Claymore when I can get my hands on them.
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

I have nearly everything Ghost in the Shell related (except for the compilations like Laughing man and Individual 11 or 2.0), Serial Experiments Lain, Haruhi, Gankutsuou, Aria the Animation, various movies (mostly Miyazaki), and of course the obligatory Pokemon VHS tapes :P

Overall not very impressive, but anime is expensive for someone looking for a job.

NEEDS to be on Blu-ray. Sola's easily one of the best animes (tho' I know some people didn't like the ending).

I liked more the side story than the original.

I got Appleseed Ex Machina on DVD as an impulse buy when Circuit City was going out of business.

One of these days I'd love to get some GiTS and F/SN in Blu Ray! (when i don't have a thousand other things i need to spend money on that aren't free).  ;D

I don't own a ton, but I am working on building up my anime DVD collection as I get spare money to.

I have the 2nd half of Kiddy Grade (last 12 episodes) which I bought at FYE for $6 total. That's probably the best deal I've ever come across.

I also have Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum (first complete series I ever bought), The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (bought it at Bestbuy for $20 during their 50% off sale), the complete Rumbling Hearts series, a couple of movies (CCS Sealed Card, Tenchi In Love), Shakugan no Shana V1 (with the OST =D) and a couple of random singles and VHS tapes (Ceres v3, Cardcaptor Sakura V1, Love Hina v2, Tenchi Muyo v1, Tenchi In Tokyo v6)

As for digital anime, http://www.myanimelist.net/animelist/MTR. If I liked it and it hasn't been licensed yet, I probably have it archived either on DVD or HDD. That doesn't include the 80GB (yes, only 80GB) of unwatched anime I have as well.

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that MTR has dropped or put on hold more anime than he has watched? xD

(Based on the MAL list, anyway)

Got a few dvd's of Anime few Blu rays, got Clannad and the after story in one box set, Fate Stay Night, Akira, Urotsukidoji Legend of the Overfiend had for years, Kanon 2006, The Amon Saga had for years. Air Blu Ray, which cost about nearly the same as my ps3 to be shipped from Japan.

But to be fair got all of them on my external hdd so don't bother that much using them, more support for Anime studios, like buy a cd if want to support musicians and they deserve the cash.

He likes Macross Frontier a lot ... >_>;; He's one of the reasons why I started the Macross Frontier 1080p blu-ray. I only have two more episodes to do.

Anime wise... I always started buying before I got into P2P. Mainly because P2P was more effective and easy to obtain.

First series I ever bought. Evangelion. 18 VCDs or something. Cost me a good 80 bucks when I was in Jr High.

I bought ALL the Ghiblies from the beginning on VCD (about 10 bucks each) till Howl's moving castle. I have 3 left. People borrow without my knowing and now I have no idea where my damn Ghiblies are. I just redled the rest.

I don't bother buying anymore. No telling when someone will show up and borrow something and not return it back properly.

Heh, that's why I don't lend out my collection anymore. Fansubs have helped a lot in that aspect; if anyone needs anything I have, I just copy the fansub version over to their HDD.

I have about 10 box sets and a box full of random anime i've picked up out of the bargain bin.  The funny thing is I picked up most of my anime off of Amazon while I was living in Japan.  A whole country full of anime, and I can't understand a word of it unless it was translated.  I guess its was like a whole sea full of water, but nothing to drink....
