Upload statistic differences (Client vs. userpage)
(1/1)
Soulmelody:
For the last 3 days, my upload statistics has been becoming more and more inconsistent with what my client is showing. It has been 600mb vs 900mb, 1gb vs 1.5 gb, and 1.4gb vs 2.4gb cumulative for the last three days respectively with my userpage understating the amount I've uploaded.
Granted, this has all been happening on the same torrent/tracker, but this is also my first real attempt at uploading. I'm very new to this community, but I want to do my best!!
I have read through the FAQs, Wiki information, and other "similar" threads. Honestly, I'm not so much concerned about this one specific torrent/tracker, but I am afraid that if I do not fix whatever is causing this discrepancy, that it may have long term effects on my ratio as I download/upload more. Since it was a freeleech torrent, I cannot tell if there was the same differences in my download. But losing ~40% of up my upload is really scary.
Here's all the relevant information I can think of:
Client: BitTornado
Torrent: Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli Extras Collection
Thanks!! ^_^
Slykester:
I'd agree 40% seems like alot. Try a different client, that one hasn't been updated since 2006.
Besides that, you've already read the other threads and wiki, so you know you don't need to worry too much about minor discrepancies.
Soulmelody:
Any recommendations?
When I first joined, I went through the whitelist of clients and downloaded the first client I recognized. ::) I'll give uTorrent a try since the list does mention its popularity. *Crosses fingers*
Also, on another thread, I've read that these statistic differences could stem from pausing/restarting the download/upload or even your computer! Is there a special procedure we should follow to properly pause/stop? I really haven't been giving pausing or restarting any second thought, but maybe its something I should be more conscious of.
blubart:
it is only important how to handle the "end" of your seeding session. for example when you shut down / hibernate your pc or disconnect from the web for a prolonged time.
to make sure the stats are properly transmitted you can stop (not pause) your torrents before those events occur - just don't forget to restart them once you want to start seeding again. ;)
