Last time you did Wipe-Install for your OS

I know that, but it won't really do me much good to format to Vista again (won't improve efficiency). If I were to delete the 'recovery partition' I would also lose certain drivers and software, so I'll have to research a bit on that in advance (work <.<). I can get a one-time install of Windows 7 x86 for the laptop and x64 for the desktop for free off of MSDN.

Can you even to a X64 Architect on a Athlon TL-56 Mobile proccesor o.o
Reinstalled on Mint 3 days ago to boot from my vista recovery.
So currently running
x86 vista ulti
x86 xp pro
x86 Mint
and I have 4GB RAM so. I needs x64 >>

I need to work on getting an x64 OS to throw on this computer and then do hopefully my last wipe for awhile. I tend to not have a choice when I get down to doing wipes on my system but normally they last between 6 months and a year.

Kind of odd too, my C2Q started at 2GB (32-bit Linux) and now is at 4GB. But it's still using 32-bit without reinstalling and I can use all 4GB RAM. I just had to have a new kernel and all is working (changing highmem to full PAE support)... No reinstall needed!
Once more of my apps work better with 64-bit binaries and more of my computers can actually execute them...then maybe I'll switch over to x86_64...

I tend to need to wipe my HDD (XP installed) every nine months or so, but I (a) have a really crappy computer that I bought for 80 bucks at the property redistribution at the local university here, and (b) have a friend that lives with me that absolutely refuses to stay away from harmful sites, lol. So really, I think it's more a combination of those factors that make me do it. I'm actually really overdue for a wipe, but until a few days ago, I wasn't really seeing a problem with slowdown, and it's been about eleven months now. I really like XP, but perhaps it IS time to move on to Windows 7... I hear it's actually really pretty good. (besides, with that Japanese promo with the 7-patty Whopper, I think they've earned my business again! This coming from the vegetarian!)
