Dual Audio

(1/2) > >>

Gyrados:
Is it possible to take audio from one file and stick it into another? For instance, use [a4e]'s SAC English audio and place it onto a higher definition version (THORA's when they release it)?

Duki3003:
Of course it is, all mkv files can be demuxed/remuxed where you can add/remove audio/video/subtitle tracks.
So it's not impossible but you'll probably have to re-sync the audio if it allows you (perhaps the audio files are different, and can't be synced because of missing/added scenes for example)

Xiong Chiamiov:
Remuxing is a fairly trivial operation (both in difficulty and time) using something like mkvtoolnix.

Some players will allow you to adjust the audio timing while watching a file, so that you don't have to actually resync it; I know smplayer does.

Gyrados:
Ahhh ok... Thanks for the conformation... I got some reading to do :)

Xtras:
But it doesn't work for all series and all dubs. Certain series have some frames dropped out in the english release and thus when you go to make a dual audio, the file drops out of sync. Gundam 0079 comes to mind, but I have run into that problem with some others. You might need to play around with MKVToolNix a little bit.
