SHARE EX2
« on: November 05, 2009, 11:50:52 AM »
I need one more step to make this piece of junk work. I got the nodes, I think I got the triggers right too and clusters are set. Problem: Ports. I'm connected directly to the modem so there is no router in-between. I've tried several ports already ranging from 10000 to whatever. Is there a specific port for this? I keep getting this:

Disconnected due to port error.

My connection has all ports open, dynamic IP address, Vista 64-bit ...

Perhaps manually forwarding the port might work?

Is it an all-in-one unit from your ISP?
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

Yes, not wireless (router is wireless).

I gave up midway through trying to set up Share and went with Perfect Dark instead.
But if you didn't forward the ports yet, then yeah, it's a must.

Yes, not wireless (router is wireless).

Then it has a built-in router. You need to configure port forwarding, almost all routers block most incoming ports by default.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

I'd too go with Perfect Dark if it ain't for the funny priority thingy for retention rate something.

I have Comcast Business, do you know a quick way to access this crap? Or just contact Comcast?

Btw,  where/how do I get Perfect Dark? If someone can assist me further with PD via PM so we don't get this thread locked.

Why would the thread be locked?
This is what I was relying on while installing Perfect Dark.
But mind you, you won't avoid forwarding the ports.

Sensitive peer-to-peer. Most threads get locked down because of that.

Thanks for the link.
