I always have a ton of DVD-R discs. burned everything onto disc's. imma toss the hdd

DVD-Rs aren't the same as DVD-RAM discs.

oh my god I got the shivers when I heard that.I'm very protective of electronics I cannot bare to look at people smashing old Monitors etc.

I think external hd is a better solution for storing backups
