Gasaraki (Series)

With the recent allowing of certain ADV titles I thought it would be a good idea to add Gasaraki to BakaBt.  There have been many releases by different groups, but I think that Grey Phantom's release is the best and most recent.  You could also get their release from their bots or even ddl. (Info and stuff on their website)

Thanks.  :)

Zalis116:
I agree, Gray_Phantom's release looks better than the R1 DVDs, despite not using R2 source. I only didn't get it all myself because I have the DVDs.

--- Quote from: mandarinka ---This wouldn't be a bad encode, if it weren't for two things:

- ugly moving blockiness in clow contrast (mainly dark) areas (likely caused by 2007's x264 used without adaptive quantization)
- (I suspect) the encoder used some "line enhancing" (and darkening) filter. People, that is a stupid thing to do! It doesn't look cool at all, on the contrary - it destroys the balance of the image, it looks very unnatural, and it also damages harmony of perceived color. Please care about video and don't do that. The creators know best which hue/intensity to use for contures so that they go well with the shot. Dudes who this way show that they got no understanding or aesthetic sense shouldn't change their choice to 100% black everywhere. Sigh, sigh.
For example:

In case this stupidity was caused by the dvd authoring team, let the insult go at them. Sadly, this is generally what animu rippers do...

TL;DR: Rip flawed by unnatural filtering.

Ahhh, encoders... ;)

ultama121:
Argh.  :(

Hmm... what group should we go with then?  Are there any other groups that used softsubs+MKVs?

macros74:
It was not my intention to say this release would not be acceptable.
Just that an encoder's opinion does not necessarily mean the episodes cannot be enjoyed by the general public... ;)

There are several other dual audio releases (AniDB), but each of those has other issues which makes them less desireable to have here imo.
