Same for me, having it almost a year. Originally it wasn't even animated.
The reason is that the avatar had things that I like: an anime girl, large pillow, a laptop, headset and coffee/tea cup (love music/computing/anime/manga/coffee/sleeping etc). Thought there was a small cat on the background, but I cropped it away - I prefer dogs.
But after a while, I got bored to it and made this .gif version with minor modifications and not to confuse ppl. for a reason that I typo alot. Shame that the speech bubble covers the coffee/tea cup :P

Mine is just a representation of whatever has my fancy. In this case, Saki. The show rules.

I didn't want to wander around all blank but I couldn't find something I'd like so I made this.
After watching it for a while it seemed to fit there.
So now she's sitting at my shoulder and keeping me company. :)
