Just an FYI.

I heard heard and read she was. Your not giving facts/sheets/links so I'll stick with my story.

According to this, you're both right

"While the "Black Rock Shooter" song uses Hatsune Miku's voice, the anime will not be directly about the Hatsune Miku character"

Drew:

--- Quote ---Black★Rock Shooter tells of the narrator's despair and hopelessness as they wander aimlessly, searching for something important to them that they presumably lost. Eventually the narrator gains new hope and decides to move on into the future with courage. The video for the song became massively popular, featuring Black★Rock Shooter traveling through a bleak city and countryside, riding a motorbike and wielding weapons. Black★Rock Shooter is an original character design by Huke, and happens to resemble Miku.

A famous 3DPV by Anomaro-P gave Black★Rock Shooter a plotline and backstory, which involves her sister betraying her and turning evil and Black★Rock Shooter being forced to kill her sister to stop the destruction. This plot eventually became the inspiration for the upcoming 2010 anime.
--- End quote ---
Huke has no affiliation with Yamaha or Crypton, the owners and creators of Hatsune Miku (respectively).

BRS is an original character made specifically to be used in a PV for the song Black★Rock Shooter by supercell. It was a collaboration between Huke and ryo. Miku and BRS are two completely different people.

One source?

--- Quote ---Originally a member of Kyoto Animation, Yamamoto rose to prominence within the company after serving as assistant director on Munto 2: Beyond the Walls of Time. In 2006, he was selected to be the production director of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, after which he became well-known among anime fans for the ending dance theme he choreographed. He was to make his full directorial debut with Lucky Star, but was replaced after four episodes due to "performance issues."[1] In a later radio interview, Yamamoto confirmed he was fired by Kyoto Animation and attempted to win his job back without success.[2] Subsequent to the firing, he founded his own studio, Ordet.[3] In 2008, he directed Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens with Ordet and A-1 Pictures. In 2009, he directed a 90-second short film for inclusion in the fourth volume of the Tonari no 801-chan manga. The short was produced by A-1 Pictures and featured character designs by Satoshi Kadowaki, also formerly of Kyoto Animation.[3] Production of the short came after the announcement that Kyoto Animation would be producing a Tonari no 801-chan television series.[4] However, less than two weeks later, the series was canceled without explanation by its broadcaster, TBS.[5] Yamamoto wrote that the short was a chance to "avenge myself" on his blog.[3] His next project will be an anime based on the Hatsune Miku Vocaloid song Black Rock Shooter, to be released in spring 2010. Yamamoto will be the supervising director, while Shinobu Yoshioka, another former Kyoto Animation member, will direct. Black Rock Shooter is set to be Ordet's first solo production as the main animation studio.[6]

Yamamoto attended the American anime convention Otakon in 2009.[3]

Source = Wikipedia.

Black Rock Shooter's character was driven and an inspiration of Miku. She is an original character, but the DARK SIDE of Miku.

More?

And why was Black Rock Shooter made on Vocaloid?! Makes you wonder.

Similar images of Miku's light side and dark side. Vocaloid name is even involved in there too and Miku's name. Not enough?

Links, sources, facts. I supported my theories. There's thousands of them on google.

Malus made mine. Its meant to be a self representation i think. its fucking cute and cheeky <3

Wow... Tatsu, I think you're now just arguing to actually win an argument.  (Gogo epeen!)

Wikipedia isn't a viable source.  The part you bolded's source goes to the source I posted which states "While the "Black Rock Shooter" song uses Hatsune Miku's voice, the anime will not be directly about the Hatsune Miku character"

And this is going way off topic...

~

On Topic, I changed my Ava cause it was a really nice and warm day out yesterday/today and I wanted to have some fun in the sun! XD
