Elfen Lied

Description: The diclonius, otherwise known as a two-horned human, are mutants of the human species, may well be the next step in human evolution. The diclonius have horns and strong telekinetic powers represented by "arms". However with this great power, they can easily destroy the human race. Fearful of their power, humans quarantined the diclonius into secret research facilities to study. However, in a freak accident, a enraged female diclonius escaped, killing many guards in the process. Interesting enough, the female escapee appears to have suffered amnesia after her escape and floated to Yuigahama of Kamakura city. There, she meets two people named Kouta and Yuka, who name the female diclonius "Nyuu", and decide that they all should live together.

Easily one of the goriest anime of all time. Seen it couple of days ago. I've seen this like 4 or 5 years ago about 3 or 4 times in a row. Freaking amazing anime, no matter how you slice it. School Days was something, but this just excels at it for insanity, gore and some serious disturbing scenes (a lot of them).

I can't really say this is gore, but this definitely is one of the best show I've seen so far that actually made me marathon it on the first view.

How can you say it's not gore? People's heads randomly explode, limbs are torn off, bodies are ripped in two!

Now if you said that his wasn't really ecchi i would tend to agree. The partial nudity was more for effect than fanservice.

Definitely one of my faves. They made this anime a lot more tasteful and elegant than i was expecting.

Yeah great anime but be sure to check out the manga too! The manga was still in progress when the anime was made so it diverges at some point and has more story and a different (tearjerker) ending. Love the soundtrack too

Indeed. Elfen Lied is great one.Totally loving it.
Perhaps a little gorish but not that much.
Then again, maybe someone who watched Silver Fang as a kid is kinda immune to gore.

Might as well try something to see if it works here as I'm at it. Doesn't seem to, a shame
This is my favourite scene from the anime. Makes me burst out laughing everytime.

Read the manga too.
The ending wasn't bad if we count the epiloque.
If we don't, then it was a lousy cliche one.

l actuallty compiled Elfen Lied into one file, only one OP/ED and the special included, the whole file has 891mb, it's rather hi res heavily encoded, but l'll check it out later on since l did it from XviD can't say it's really that good. but easily watchable in one go ;]

and yeh, the manga is great. Much better but the anime is still great.

I got one of my friends to start watching anime with me after showing him this too

Now we have watched stuff like Eureka 7 and Kannagi ^.^

I actually didn't like the manga, I thought the anime was much better... The ending in the manga suxxed... And the blood and nudity etc. has a better effect in the anime I think...

Elfen Lied was pretty cool.

I enjoyed the ending and the strong symbolism.

(Moral of the story: Don't pick on the outsiders... They'll fucking kill you! XD)

omfg! I absolutely love this!!
I've seen this probably 30+ times and STILL start to cry on final ep! :S

Also opening and ending is gooooooooooooooood. ....

(my opinion of moral of the story: Even if she is killer, there is someone who she love and just cant kill him!)

FIRST POST!

I freaking love this anime... as with most really awesome ones, of course, it's WAY too short. It's also impressive to see what good storytellers can do to bring depth to a character who doesn't speak.

Gore, perhaps not if you need actual entrails to call it that... blood and dismemberment, definitely.

I love this show a lot. The gore and blood and insanity are all big pluses in this series. They should have finished or followed the manga. Hmph.
