saving lang/subtitles for zoom player

(1/1)

laxcat:
I am at a loss, I love zoom player for watching all my anime.  I have a tendancy to like to hear it in japanese and have english subtitles.  If I have to reset the audio and subtitle stream to that for some reason I can't get it to save that way.  Could someone out there help me by suggesting a way or is it not in the cards?

Thanks, Laxcat

P.S. just to answer, Personally I think the natural language flows better then watching it in english.  Alot of times it is also the conversions just don't match with the facial features when it is translated.  Call me weird, alot of ppl do  :P

Options -> Playback -> Video & Subtitles
Check "Auto-Subtitle Stream", Language Country ID "English", Text Match "Japanese"

Options -> Playback -> Audio
Check "Auto-Audio Stream", Language Country ID "Japanese", Text Match "Japanese"

Putting Japanese for a text-match in subtitles may seem odd to you, but it has to do with the way Exiled-Destiny encodes their dual-audio MKVs. Normally with the right Language ID tagged to the stream, only the first option would be needed to select the English subtitle stream. But for some reason that I can't remember, E-D labels the subtitle streams as such: the English subtitle stream (which is empty) goes with the English audio stream, the Japanese subtitle stream (which is in English) goes with the Japanese audio stream.

So the above config will correctly account for E-D's subtitle labelling without screwing up stream identification for other encodes (hopefully).

@Kureshii, thank you for the tip =^.^=

I was wondering why the "auto-stream" setting didn't work, but as you said, it needed "text-match" settings to be activated. For now I've just customized the keyboard layout that it changes audio track when I press "A" button, and proper subtitle source with "S" button. This means one step lesser for me. Thank you :)
