That had no constructive reason for being there. You might hate apple, but the op wanted help, not someone's opinion on the product

when it comes to video converting i always use " Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate "
the last version -IMO- was a sucess it can convert almost Anything !!
i think it takes sometime to convert files using it !

Get mediacoder it support cuda (gpu decoding of h264, perfect for iPod).
Manu options but may be confusing for new user.
