Probably due to the cartoons and the Original Batman movies which were somewhat silly instead of dark... people fail to realize that Batman has a "side story" that's dark as fucking hell. Who here has read the comic "Arkham Asylum"? That comic was a total "holy hell" when it came to understanding the minds of the criminals within Arkham. (Mainly you're chasing the mind of Jane Doe) But it seriously is deep and dark. Great stuff. I was hoping to find more of those comics at my book store... but people snap them up so fast.

Some of that shit is close to mindfuck in the sense of detail. But you read it and go "FUCKING HELL! IT MAKES SENSE!"
Awesome, I didn't know Arkham Asylum was illustrated before being made as a game. Luckily, I was able to find it on a torrent at TPB.

I've really been getting into Batman. I loaned a biography (library) which tells just about his whole story from being made by Bob Kane, and to Robin, there's plenty of stuff left, just haven't gotten there yet. Also, planning on doing a Batman marathon soon. Though only the two recent movies. I don't feel the previous ones were any good. I need to loan Dark Knight though.

If you want to delve deeper, into the relationship between Joker and Batman I also recommend these 2 books.

http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Killing-Joke-Alan-Moore/dp/1401216676/ref=pd_sim_b_1

and since you seem to be interested in Batman in general I recommend this as well.

http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Year-One-Frank-Miller/dp/1401207529/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_c

It shows that the comic is a fair bit darker than the TV show and cartoon have led people to believe.

Well,I could give you a site to get all Batman comics if you want. The movies were all very good, even the one with the nipples. For me,it was the best 'till Nolan and Bale. The Nickholson one was awesome too.But the new ones are awesome.I definetely want to see them continued, even if as just a trilogy.

The game bricked my 60gig PS3 on Monday (YLOD), so I hate it for that.  Everything else about it was awesome though.  Figures that I was just about done with it also.

I would very much like that. Please PM if you think it's not appropriate to be posted.

I found something new, I think.

Late 2010, fine with me. Thought that might be a bit too optimistic.

Two Voice Actors Out Arkham Asylum 2 Villains

Mister Freeze and Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra's (Ra?) will be foes in Batman: Arkham Asylum, according to two voice actors' comments on a podcast and via Twitter.

First up, Talia. Stana Katic, who stars on ABC's Castle, tweeted on Friday that she'd "Just recorded a character voice on the next Batman video game," and found water and pineapple slices to be plenty of help. The character? "I'm voicing Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in 'Batman Begins')" Katic very quickly took down these tweets but plenty of folks found them cached through the magic of Google.

Next up, Maurice LaMarche, best known as the voice of Kif Kroker in Futurama, told Geekcastradio that he's Mister Freeze for AA2. Said LaMarche:

Quote
I'm about to go in and do Mr. Freeze for Arkham Asylum 2 ... He's out for blood right now because, err... I can't tell you the situation, but he's actually somewhat a sympathetic character within the framework of the game.

Given Kif's disaffected disposition, LaMarche is a rather shrewd choice for Freeze.

For the record, IMDB doesn't list either actor in the game's cast, but it's early yet.

New Batman: Arkham City Screens Almost Look Too Good To Be True

Quote from: Kotaku
These twenty new screen shots of Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City are so impressive, so easy on the eyes that more cynical gamers might cry "Bullshot!" But if you played Arkham Asylum, you know Batman games can look this good.

Batman looks tough. Catwoman looks super sexy. As does the much improved Harley Quinn. Two Face looks revoltingly charred and the thugs roaming the streets of the new Arkham are loaded with creepy personality. What's not to like?

I suppose Batman: Arkham City's far off release date—it hits in the fall of 2011—could be filed under unlikable.

The new game looks sexy. Fall 2011 is only one year away so fine by me if it means the game will be better. Though I hope there's a few more villians than Two-Face. Harley Quinn looks like she's on Batman's side this time. And Joker will participate again albeit in a slight less active role. I hope they found a away to correct the issue many people had with the game = detective mode and then not being able to enjoy the awesome graphics. I felt the same way playing the game. Then I just decided to keep detective mode off since I was playing Hard and kind of knew what I had to do.
