There is yaoi tentacle porn out there!!! I've read several <- meaning you don't come across it in anime very often, if at all. Not that I mind as I find tentacles boring as hell, be it in regular hentai or yaoi.

I've actually seen a trailer of the Live Action Takeshi is linking ... It was on the Tales Triology DVD I had at one point in time.
My guy friends I showed it to all had a good laugh it was that bad (from the trailer dunno about the actual DVD). That was the first Live Action I ever saw.

If you think about it, it's like most other cultures who have an erotic mythos around playing with their food...

While there were instance of it before, they did not have any significant impact on the Japanese culture or fantasies. That only took off later on, with animated porn and then it was an attempt to circumvent the heavy censorship rather than because of an existing fetish.
