wylie:
Saw random threads made about it but never FOR it. So here it is.
Description:
(click to show/hide)In the distant future, people build their homes and raise domestic animals in subterranean caverns. As a result, they live in fear of the occasional earthquake and cave-in, and have been for hundreds of years. Jeeha is one such village.
One day, a boy named Simon happens to find a small, shiny drill while digging to expand the village. At the same time, Kamina - Simon's "Bro" - believes that there is another land above the village, and tries to break through the ceiling in order to leave the cavern, but fails. Suddenly, an earthquake occurs, the ceiling collapses and a gigantic robot - a Ganmen - crashes to the cave floor.
Kamina is now sure that there is a world above them. Recklessly, he begins to fight against the robot, and discovers that another person has arrived from the land above. It is a girl by the name of Yoko from the neighbouring village Ritona. With a rifle in hand, she had been hunting the robot, but her rifle shots only irritated the robot. Trying to escape its attacks, Simon shows Kamina and Yoko what he had previously found: It is a mysterious robot with a head as its body.
And so this epic adventure begins...
Well even though the show got over, it still deserves its own thread. Put all things TTGL here.
Btw: Anyone know where I can get the 2 sound clips of the music which played during the 2 image breaks in the mid half of each episode?
Takeshi:
Never made it past the 7th episode or so.. I should probably try and finish this and some of the other 100+ shows I already have stalled. But I hear it's good, a good over-the-top mecha anime.
zherok:
I thought it was ok. Dunno what to say really other than yeah, over the top describes it well.
That... and Nia had the most annoying voice of any character in a series I've actually watched to completion.
dbml:
It sucked until about the 7-8th episode, then it took a turn for the better. The second half was brilliant. And the ending was... well... very, very good.

I can't agree with you more. Her voice was unbearable.
For me, the show had some extreme ups and downs. One moment I absolutely loathe it, a few episodes later, I love it again. General consensus is an epic first and last arc, middle is hard to watch. Overall a good show, and yes it gets better, just trudge through the annoying bits.
