I remember hearing about this a long time ago, but kind of passed over it. Then a week or so ago I heard it was having a limited release in North America (though not Canada unfortunately), and watched the trailer, which looked interesting. So I downloaded it and was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely not deep or groundbreaking, but I don't think it was meant to be. It was just an entertaining and feel good kind of movie with a nice story and great animation.
So many things happened yet in the end it felt like nothing has happened. It also lowered my intelligence. And it insulted me as a computer enthusiast.
Disappointed and deleted. I thought it would be good considering the high scores everywhere.
As a computer technology professional, I didn't find the obviously fantastical portrayal of computers much of a detractor. Sure it's unrealistic and will never actually work like that, but that's kind of the point; it entices the imagination. This is different than a reality-based Hollywood computer movie that tries to play it straight, like Anti-Trust or Firewall, which can be annoying. But if you get that annoyed that easily, then you're not going to enjoy much, because EVERY movie incorrectly portrays some aspect of computer technology. It's like that with the media's portrayal of pretty much anything though, so you can't really expect more.
